Exclusive hotel literally on an ocean cliff some 20-30 feet above the water. Rooms overlooking the pacific ocean with balconies and tons of pelicans flying by, higher end rooms are even more ocean facing than those overlooking the pool. Great ocean facing lounging on the property and the cliff edges, a small pool and jacuzzi. Away from the crowded Pismo beach pier but a couple of minutes drive to it, nice ocean side town a quarter mile to the north. Limited dining walking distance from the hotel though. Next to the highway but no bothersome noise, ample parking. Large, clean comfortable suites, even luxurious if you will, water pressure a bit low, building feels like an upgraded cape cod architecture and has lost that character (sky lights present on the outside but sealed off on the inside). Great breakfast but smaller breakfast room, free wine tasting 4-6, front office staff experience mixed, some very pleasant and professional, some a bit rude- like a dude who sounded like came from the Italian hospitality industry, room service experience excellent. A couple nights good enough unless you want to make it a base up the pacific coast. Lot of fenced off areas otherwise it would be unsafe around the property, it has a small cove beach that you can walk down to.
