"I arrived very late at night (2300). I tried to call the hotel to let them know but was unable to contact the hotel - the phone number wasn’t correct, so when I arrived the gate was closed. Phonsavan itself didn't make a great impression. But once outside of town, it really is a beautiful part of the country.

I was surprised that Phonsavan was such a big city. There are lots of dining options, and lots of things to see in the area.
