"One of the best historic bed and breakfasts we’ve visited. From the welcoming glass of sherry and freshly baked cake, everything was incredible. We were welcomed and made to immediately feel at home. Keurig coffee maker and dorm sized fridge with bottled water in the upstairs hallway, wonderful soap, shampoo, conditioners, soft towels, comfy bed… Too many wonderful things to list. The breakfast offered NINE different unique gourmet choices, not the usual waffle, French toast, eggs. Can’t wait to return for another visit!"

"Beautiful clean rooms and lobby. Well positioned on the river / riverwalk with excellent views of the boats and July 4th fireworks steps away. Very nicely decorated room and bath (above average for sure). Comfortable beds and quiet. We did not take advantage of the restaurant on site. For families, I'd say it's not the greatest; no pool in the middle of summer in NC is a big downside. There's note really a lot of room in the lobby or common areas to hang out. If you want a very well appointed room that's quite without standard vacationers (didn't see a lot of families or little kids, maybe because of the higher standard room rate), this is the place to go."
