Too loud, there were 4 Weddings and hotel was over crowded. Rooms are some what outdated, no pool! Advertised as if they have one. The only positive thing was the bed and pillows were so fluffy and comfy. Location was great too but no parking, their lot was small and full and cost $75 to valet but no available spots. Street parking until 10 with money meters. Tow trucks circling around all day to toll cars that are parked in spots that are not allowed to but signs are a little complicated so this is very unfair.

I was told to "take the bus around the neighborhood to access their free Wi-Fi") • No pool as advertised • Room smelled damp • Stained carpet • Dirty towel • Incredibly rude encounter with Sylvester the night manager • Distance from room to elevator • No vegan-friendly options at restaurant Overall I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel... honestly it was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Hotel location, aesthetic and room decor were nice but personally I feel like anyone working in hospitality should understand the importance of providing friendly, quality service. Was a disappointing 5-day stay which was supposed to be a wonderful birthday celebration... instead it was an uncomfortable, negative experience :(

Staff was friendly, rooms are clean. No free breakfast. The first night an alarm went off twice telling us to vacate immediately. Seems the drinkers in the lobby were having fun. I would have expected a discount on my 3 night stay invoice for the interruptions.

My name is Dr. Sophia Sunshine Vilceus, and I am writing to formally document an incident of discrimination and improper denial of accommodation that occurred when I attempted to check in to a fully paid reservation made through Expedia on April 3, 2026, at the Old City Marriott in Philadelphia. Despite having a confirmed and fully paid reservation, I was refused check-in upon arrival. During this interaction, Brielle, in the presence of Maria at the front desk and another male front desk employee, verbally agreed that I would receive a full refund for the reservation. However, management has since refused to honor this agreement, leaving me responsible for a charge for services that were never provided. Since February 2026, I have stayed at the Old City Marriott several times due to a series of significant medical and mental health complications, all of which are documented in a GoFundMe campaign that I can provide for reference. In mid-February, I was sexually assaulted in my home, which precipitated a severe mental health crisis. In early March, while staying at the Old City Marriott, I experienced a manic episode related to that trauma. During that stay, I was transported by ambulance from the hotel to the Emergency Department at the University of Pennsylvania. When I arrived to check in on April 3, 2026, I was treated in an unexpectedly hostile and accusatory manner. Brielle immediately approached the interaction as though I had engaged in wrongdoing.

Our stay was perfect. The hotel has a really nice common space, the bar has good food too. Their breakfast buffet was ok ($25), but this hotel is just a couple of blocks away from a lot of great restaurants and bars. You technically don’t need a car if you’re willing to do some walking or even uber around for longer distances. We parked our car and never used it again. Parking is $55 per day. Overall, great hotel, and centrally located.

Unfortunately we checked in later in the evening, and went right out to eat. We were initially disappointed in our view of a gigantic metal wall, but easy-going enough to not care. When we arrived back at the hotel it was time to sleep, and that’s when we noticed the heating unit noise. Every hour, on the hour, we were woken to the sound of a freight train clicking on, rattling, and turning off with a scream. We cordially asked to change rooms the next morning, and were told one would be available within two hours. That was when we decided to shower, and found ice cold water as the only option. Our second room was as to be expected (no noise, hot water, and a view of the lobby), which served only as a reminder of how extremely unfortunate it was to have to endure the agony of the first night’s stay. The hotel lobby was lovely and they had a really nice gym on the 4th floor. The only other complaint would be that the ice machine was located on the 3rd floor, and only had ice 1 out of the 2 times we went to fill.

Really nice hotel in a great location. I would definitely stay here again. Lovely staff. Nice gym. Appreciate the M Club too. Room was very clean and comfortable.
