Quinta da Vacaria was absolutely wonderful. The views from the hotel of the Douro terrain is magical. The staff is friendly and helpful which makes the visit extra special. An added bonus is the wine making facility on the property. We enjoyed a tour of the winery and tasted their wines in the perfect setting.

Torel Quinta da Vacaria was the most beautiful and best stay in Douro Valley. The hotel was an architectural marvel, with its state of the art spa to the most spectacular views of the river. But the best part was its amazing staff and impecable service. This had been one of the best hotels we have stayed in the world and we HIGHLY recommend it.

The only thing we were in duplex room which was annoying on two floors, didn’t feel comfortable and didn’t flow well and lack or storage for clothes. Also the casual dining options was very limited.

The location was spectacular! The rooms were fantastic, the wine was amazing, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the facilities were great. One of the best properties I have ever stayed. I highly recommend. Word of warning, you need to hire a car to get to the property.

We had an excellent time at Torel Quinta da Vacaria. They exceeded our expectations. This place truly is luxurious with a full spa. There is an outdoor pool and indoor pool. Steam rooms are open to all resort guests. The free breakfast was delicious with iberian ham included. The on site vineyard wine tasting was great too. Nice museum-like display told the history of douro valley vineyards.

Exceptional relaxing stay

The stay was amazing! The hotel in new opened just a month ago. The stuff is very kind and welcoming and wanted to hear feedback. We took the executive room with the bath in the balcony so really enjoyed it. The spa is great so do not miss it, was a bit expensive as they the couple deal is not yet available. We hope to visit again in the future :)

Refreshingly surprising luxury Resort.

A new resort in a 400 year old vineyard. Exceptional property. Location was really picturesque. We booked 5 rooms as a group vacation. Hotel was very elegant. Staff were very friendly and attentive and will do everything to make ur stay memorable. Rooms are very comfortable. Their spa is very nice with sauna, hamam and a lap pool overlooking the valley. Must try their port wines. On the whole we have really enjoyed our stay at this property . Thank u all.

Accommodations 5* Food 5* Property & Amenities 5* An inland riveria with what you would desire from a Michelin property. The rooms and common areas are picturesque and should be visited by Arch Digest. Well appointed and furnished to relax the mind. The staff is top notch. Not too assertive but very attentive and respectful. The restaurant options have a nice variety from bar to Michelin. This is what you want. A kitchen that can provide delicious bites on the go and the more exquisite dishes for that special moment. We personally, loved the breakfast and infinity pool in the mornings, property amenities during the day (gym, vineyard, spa), and bar/restaurant options in the evening. A beautiful oasis to call home base if you are looking to stay put in Douro valley or venture out into the countryside. ~ Cheers.

One of our favorite hotel experiences ever!! The hotel itself is understated luxury with subtle mid century decor and elements. The pool and spa with additional indoor pool, steam room, sauna, and gym were beautiful and really were a huge perk. The included breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind and courteous. We can’t wait to visit again. Also, the wine that comes from the hotel’s vineyard was the best red wine we had on our trip. You won’t be disappointed staying here! 10/10 highly recommend.

Poor value for money

Poor value for money There are way better places in Douro Valley at a lower price point. Even after being open more than a year it feels like it still has teething problems. Staff is not trained properly. Very slow service; music playing outside our room from the pool at night; sloppy turndown service (they left the ironing board in the room despite promising to take it away); they put our bags in the wrong room; cigarette burns in the patio furniture; one analogue key instead of digital means one person is always without a key (and by the way, the door doesn’t automatically lock when closed so you have to manually lock your door at night). On the plus side, the view is stunning; the pool wonderful; the restaurant is excellent and the rooms are very clean and comfortable

The most amazing hotel we’ve been to

Probably the best hotel I’ve been to (and I’ve been to quite a few good hotels). This hotel was simply something different. The location - amazing view right above the Douro river. The design - beautiful, just beautiful, the room , the lobby, restaurant, bar, spa - you can see every little detail was considered. But above all it was the service - everything you need even if you didn’t know you need it was provided. The stuff is always there for you with a big smile. I’d say that in terms of service this hotel sets a new standard. Hope we’ll have the opportunity to come back to this hotel next year. 11/10.

The property is fantastic and highly recommended! What really makes it exceptional is the staff. Everyone at this property goes above and beyond to make the experience world class. Rodrigo, the young man that greeted us, parked our vehicle and brought our luggage in, is a shining example of exemplary service. There are numerous other members of the staff that went above and beyond that I could mention without hesitation. In addition to the staff being amazing the rooms are lovely, the pool and deck is relaxing, the spa is welcoming and the food in the bar and restaurant is delicious. I can’t recommend this experience enough. We hope to return in the future.
