Lovely area, rooms are very charming! The breakfast was delicious and the server was amazing. Easy beautiful drive to Percé for touristic activities but they also offer a variety of activities at the Camp de Base as well for an extra fee! Would highly recommend for families or just individuals looking for a calm pleasant time at the beach.
This is a perfectly lovely and historic inn. The restaurant food was outstanding!
The weather was hot, hot, hot. The inn and rooms are not air conditioned which was unfortunate but the bedroom was charming and the bed comfortable. We would stay here again!
Staying in a 200 year old Inn has its charm and when the service impeccable what more can you ask for. And of course access to the prettiest beach in Gaspésie is a bonus
Staff was wonderful. Property offers access to the beach and is a short drive to Percé. Breakfast was quite good. Shared bathroom was surprisingly clean and neat. The rooms themselves are as described. Note that the rooms have no sound proofing so it can be bothersome especially for light sleepers.
We absolutely loved our stay here. Rustic, original and charming. They eye candy of antiques and artifacts was a pleasure. Lots of local artists works on the walls upstairs (we actually bought a wonderful painting). The room itself was clean and sufficient. The shared bathroom was never overly busy and was cleaner than clean. The staff were wonderful and full of information about the area and the inn itself. We did not eat at the restaurant as we brought all of our meals, but using the bbq was a breeze. The beac is steps away, great for watching the lobster boats in the morning and rockhounding for agate and other awesome rocks. The food looked delicious though. Pro tip: you will see the most magnificent sunset from an awesome fun to drive, windy road up the mountain on Rte de Failles. You'll know you are there when you see the stand alone chimney. Park there. There's a second awesome view if you take the path that runs behind the abandoned cabins.
Camp de Base was a great stay and we'll stay again.
This was a heavenly place, an inn made up of various cabins, sitting on the Gaspe Peninsula, on a long stretch of beach extending several miles. The kitchen is accessible to all, breakfast is a choice of several good things individually made for each guest. It feels more like a large roomy country home where you are free to roam a series of dreamlike spaces, design your meal, only your hosts are not meddlesome like bad relatives but helpful, yet mindful of your independence in this homey space: The hosts are like the type of relatives you wish you had. There are a myriad of touches that make this place special beyond the spectacular view, such as the aesthetics of the place, its non commercial smell, that even the best hotels suffer from with nauseating aromatic cleansers. Here the wood construction and wood furniture give off a cedar smell, the place is spotless and everything works. The bedding is so
comfortable that you will sleep even if you are an insomniac. I was, to quote Blanche Dubois, dependent “on the kindness of strangers,” as this is a region requiring a car and I came just with a pair of legs, a train, a regional airline, buses; and relied on two fantastic taxi drivers, a kind fellow traveler and a construction worker— who saved me halfway of a crazy walk back from town to the hotel. Had I
been stuck at Cape de Base Gaspesie, however, I would not have minded one bit. I am glad I had the good sense to choose it.
Excellent stay , very close to the beach . Pleasant atmosphere, clean and quiet. An 8 min drive to Perce Will book again loved it thanx to all the staff and the chef for my scrabbled eggs lovely ....
Was a great stay. As advertised with great service and ambience. An authentic and genuine experience. Great breakfast to go with it! Looking forward to next time.
Poised right on the beach and a short drive to the busy town of Perce. Be ready to share a bathroom with 3 other rooms. Great food and people are lovely. Enough English speaking staff to accommodate our limited French.
This place is located about 7km away from Percé. It is right by the beach offering panoramic views. There's plenty of parking. The interior is decorated with a distinctive wooden cabin style, which reminds me of a hunter's lodge & gives it a lot of character.
The owner is super nice and incredibly patient. Since it was off-peak season, she generously upgraded us to a big room with a huge private bathroom. The room was spotless too and well maintained.
Breakfast is complimentary and made fresh. You order at the front desk, and the kitchen prepares it the next morning. You don't see that often these days!
At the end we paid $272 for 2 nights. Taxes included!
Overall, we were really happy with our stay. Would definitely recommend staying here instead of overpaying in town!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Free breakfast, ocean view. Lots of water activity
This is the first Auberge we have stayed at. I thought there would be a shared kitchen so that we could freeze our icepack and keeps drinks cold, but there wasn't one and our room did not have a small fridge. The person working the bar and taking food orders was definitely over-worked. Thought there would be a spot for us to look after ourselves, i.e. at breakfast an area for those staying to help themselves to coffee, etc., but it was all served.
A festinating old property. Somewhere up to 200 years old so lots of history. Has had a good facelift, in that the origins are still visible. Even the floors creaked appropriately. Staff was first rate, both for the check in and breakfast. Accommodated us in English with no hesitation. We did not have a dinner reservation and they were full with a bus tour, but arranged a take away dinner for us to eat in the library with our own wine. They supplied the glasses. Very close to the sea an easy walk and the beach stretches for miles in both directions. Only there over night but will be going back as our schedule permits. Would like to rent one of their out cabins right on the beach and stay longer. The whole experience was a very fortunate pick on our part.
