Enjoyed our stay here. The accommodation is excellent and in a beautiful location. The hosts, Andrea and Mike, go out of their way to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. The cottage was super clean, modern and equipped with everything you'd need. We'd have no hesitation in recommending it.

Great stay on a short business trip. Welcoming and friendly hosts showed me around. Will have to come back with the family to enjoy the games room and heated pool, likes like fun 😊 Comfortable little cottage with all the necessities, nice and warm and cosy. Gotta come back for more !

Kauri Villas cannot be adequately described with words. It needs to be experienced and embraced. I am filled with peace and joy upon arrival, and melancholy when having to depart. Mike and Andrea are the most amazing hosts: kind, hospitable, friendly, welcoming and full of warmth. Stunning surroundings and the most beautiful cottages, with luxurious amenities, a spa pool and swimming pool overlooking the heads. The gardens and surrounding areas are vibrant and pristine. There is so much to absorb, and I can't wait to return to this slice of paradise. 10/10

The hosts were warm and welcoming. I loved everything about this experience - cottage was clean, modern facilities and absolutely charming. I especially appreciated Mike spending time with us to meet his sheep - so cute! He even gave us pellets so I could feed them. Views from this property were beautiful. Many for a wonderful stay! I so wish we could have stayed longer.

Fabulous spot for a long weekend away from Auckland. The sea view from the main property is amazing, and the pool / games barn a great place for the kids to be entertained. The hosts are incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We stayed in the Kohinui (family) cottage - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, well-equipped kitchen, and heat pumps/AC in every room. The cottages aren't new, but the hosts have done a great job in making sure they feel clean and comfortable. Parua Bay village (with petrol station, bakery, and Four Square) is a short drive away. Ocean Beach is about 10 mins drive, should you want a day boogie-boarding or a dip in the sea. Or you can stay put and relax by the heated pool / hot tub at Kauri Villas with that amazing view. This place is a great find in a less-populated holiday spot, and reasonably priced for what you get - highly recommend!

My wife and I travelled NZ for seven weeks. Kauri Villas was the best accommodation experience of the entire trip. If you are looking for a little rest and relaxation, beautiful scenery, traditional Kiwi charm combined with luxurious surroundings, then this is the place for you! Enjoy!

Jewel of Whangarei Heads

This is a beautiful gem nestle among the lush bush on top of a little hideaway hill providing a near 360 degree view of the surrounding including the tranquil water in the distance. I have been visiting Whangarei for the good part of the past 40 years and this one tops the list of charm, serenity and top class hospitality from the hosts Andrea and Mike. The breakfast provided by the IT savvy part time chef Mike was just perfect.

On our last night in New Zealand, we decided to stay in Kauri Villas B&B instead of apartments or hotels - and boy, were we blown away! First the suite that we stayed in was spacious - 2 bedrooms and a living area. Also the host was so gracious and friendly, and served us a delicious breakfast cooked to order! More importantly we had a chance to get to know how the locals live. And we got a chance to see some sheep, 2 friendly cats, and chickens! The property is a little far from Whangarei, so account for that if you choose to stay here.

It was pretty nice. The only one thing i was inconvenienced is kitchen. I recommend takeaway or order dinner service. Nice pool, good breakfast and lovely cats!

Perfect quaint stop

Beautiful setting with wonderful friendly host. Breakfast was delicious. The grounds and view were so perfect. There is a little hike on the property. The sheep are a plus.

Winter business trip

This is a lovely property and I enjoyed the change from staying in standard hotel rooms. A bit more than just your average B&B with friendly service and a very tasty home cooked breakfast. Great views from the dining room over the pool out to Parua Bay. Would love to take the family back in Summer.
