We arrived earlier than check in time and was told our room was not ready, which was fine at the time. Then we experienced strong storms and had to shelter in a store for a couple hours, and when we called for an update we were met with rudeness and told “it will be soon”. We arrived 5 min before check in time, and saw 3 other people come and go before us with their rooms ready and I was told a 3rd time our room wasn’t ready and there was no timeframe when it would be. Mind you, this was a standard king bed room so not something extravagant. This was in the middle of severe storms that we were out in for a few hours, and when I expressed my concern the front desk associate rolled her eyes at me and then another told me “it was a training day.” Are you serious? I asked for the GM and was met with the assistant GM who offered me an upgrade at no cost and was ground floor, ocean view. I appreciate what she did, but there was no reason for this trouble. The staff there besides the assistant GM were all rude and unprofessional. I will not be staying here again.
