"First of all, we were so impressed by the family that runs this hotel. Can’t thank, Katrina, Martina, Fabio, Aurelio, the women who keep the place clean & the two lovely young men at the onsite restaurant. It’s so impressive observing all the above-mentioned staff work together so closely to ensure we as guests, have a phenomenal stay. Although, this hotel is quite a walk from Tropea & can be slightly dangerous as there are no sidewalks, for a surcharge they have a shuttle. However, if the weather was cooler & not 31 Celsius each day, it is doable. Also, a train operates on the back of the property but it wasn’t as annoying as we initially thought it would be. The La Laconda restaurant onsite has an extensive menu and everything is freshly cooked. Breakfast each morning was the same but it was all freshly cooked & baked onsite. Please note, we did notice, that if you request eggs prepared any way you like, they will cook it for you. Our only drawback to this place was the fact you can’t store any bought water or drinks in the mini fridge. We found that quite odd. They do provide drinks, pop & water for a cost but unfortunately, it wasn’t what we normally enjoy. Be aware that if you are a non smoker, guests smoke on the balconies. This was quite frustrating for us as we tried to enjoy drinks & lunches on our balcony which had impeccable views of the sea but unfortunately, our enjoyment was cut short due to the smoking. Too bad this hotel doesn’t have a designated area."
