Decent family stay on a trip

Rooms are good for the price, lil hole in the wall hotel only one for a lil bit in the area. Caretaking family is SUPER NICE, and my only gripe is the waffle maker had crusty all over it, like it has never been touched by a paper towel.

Minimal Expectations for Price & Location

I wasn’t expecting much for our one night stay because of the low price. Bed was fine, room was clean, refrigerator worked well. The TV many more channels then I needed, but the volume control on the remote would NOT work and I would have preferred it lower. Then when I was ready for bed, the power off on the remote control would NOT function. I tried multiple different ways to turn off the TV to no avail. I could not find any manual buttons, switches, knobs, etc on the TV itself as I searched all over the TV with my flashlight. I finally gave up and pulled the power plug out. The tap water looked clear but it has a very high mineral content and we could not use it to bush our teeth; using the bottled water we had. My shower in the morning had plenty of hot water and good flow. The bottom of the shower curtain was stained from the hard water and it had additional black stains from what?, but really needs replacing. Wallpaper in the bathroom was loose in a couple of places. The bathroom mirror was missing some of the reflecting layer around the edges. The toilet worked as it should but it was very low. When my knees are above my hips, it makes it much harder to get up (a problem for many older people). The breakfast was just OK, except for the waffle batter was very thin resulting in the waffle sticking in the iron. My wife had a hard time getting it out of the waffle iron.

I was put across the hall with someone who had a noisy dog. There were plenty of empty rooms in the hotel and I really needed a good night sleep. I could have easily been put in a room upstairs where the coming and going and barking of the dog would not have awakened and disturbed me.

Room was gross definitely have bedbugs or carpet beetles woke up with bites and couldn’t stop itching! Asked for a refund said the did it still didnt get a refund called back said they processed it… called bank still no refund had to reach out to Expedia for them to refund today almost 3 weeks after stay! Awful place to stay deserves 0 stars.
