Beautiful 100 year old ryokan with a nice garden and a simple but nice onsen. The staff kindly got larger yukatas for my wife and me and they were very classy looking. Beautiful setting right by the water. Convenient to restaurants and shops.
The Ryokan has an excellent location at the seaside with many good restaurants near by. Japanese breakfast was delicious and there was a beautiful inner garden .
It is conveniently located right by the bike path connecting to the Shimanami Kaido and a short walk from the Ferry / Cycle boat to Onomichi.
The hosts were very friendly and went above and beyond to help me with luggage shipping . The hotel facilitates luggage transportation between hotels and the Ryokan is affiliated with Sagawa luggage services, which is very convenient in case you want to bike luggage free.
It is an old building but very clean and there is quite a bit of charm with an Old Japan feeling . Highly recommend !
Unique experience. Made to feel very welcome with detailed walkthrough of history and services. Excellent Japanese experience. Onsen was wonderful. Highly recommended. Also, excellent coffee and food at restaurant next door!
Charming, well appointed ryokan. The interior courtyard housed a serene Japanese garden. Shower and onsen bath are shared but there was a private toilet in our room. The hostess was extremely gracious and gave us a tour of the shower area. Rooms came with yukatas, slippers, bottled water, and individual lemon cakes for all guests. The only caveat is that the buckwheat pillows were small and flat. Overall, one of my family's favorite accommodations during our trip to Japan.
Meget fint opphold. Så komfortabelt man kan få det på en Ryokan og en meget behagelig onsen å slappe av i. Veldig god frokost og ekstremt hyggelig personale 😊
This place was amazing, traditional incredible place in a beautiful town.
The ladies that welcomed us were kind and warm. When we arrived, the first lady showed us all the place around and she answered all our questions always willing to help even when she does not speak English and we do not speak Japanese. When we left, a second lady helped us finding a place to have breakfast.
I would have been happy to spend another night in this place exploring the town.
This is a great stop if you want to do the bicycle route between Onemachi and Imabari, which we did.
