Excellent decoration inside and outside the room. Staff was good to help us although some language difficulties. Breakfast is great. Some rooms had bad smells,but the staff changed the room for us immediately.

We stayed there for one night and we're impressed by the professionalism of the staff. The staff was very accommodating about special request made to them. The hotel is located few steps from the main attractions in the city including train station.

You cannot get more central in terms of location. Right at the end of the street from the train station and only a couple of blocks from the main plaza and the key archeological sites. The balcony rooms overlook the river and the rooms are very spacious. The included breakfast makes for an easy start to your day. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Sol Ollantay.

We thought this hotel was a great place to stay. The location was good for us as it is very close to the ruins and the plaza de Armes (with many restaurants and shops). There are a couple of cute sitting areas which was nice for meeting up with other family members. Our rooms were next to the river with beautiful views. We were happy to have hot showers and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Plus the staff was very helpful.

Pros: location is great and rooms spacious/ clean Cons: really noisy room both for sleeping and enjoying during day. The rooms don’t have sealed windows so it looks out to the next door cafe patio where people are enjoying coffee and looking into the room. There was lots shouting and smashing of furniture at 2-4am within the hotel which didnt feel particularly safe, especially as the door has a really flimsy lock. Staff didn’t check how stay was. Breakfast was sparse/ limited in terms of food supplied. Would definitely look elsewhere despite location & price

Lovely hotel. However, we did not get the rooms that we booked. We booked a Family room with a balcony and views, and a Superior Triple Room. When we arrived, there were apparently no more Family Rooms with balconies available, so our rooms were switched. Our kids in the Superior Triple Room got the balcony and views, while we did not. They need a better booking system.

The location is excellent! The Ollantaytambo ruins are in walking distance and have a great selection of restaurants around the hotel. The room was big and clean facing the spring. The door to the balcony is not soundproof so you will hear the loud water gushing through the spring all the time

Didn't like there was no coffee pot or available filtered water unless you went and got it yourself! The breakfast was not as we had hoped for. The young man at the front desk was very helpful! Nice spacious room with baloney overlooking the stream.

This place blew away my expectations. We had a balcony with the calming noises of a mountain stream rushing by to help you fall asleep. The views of the stream were nice, but you could also see the Ollaytantambo ruins from the balcony. It is surrounded by massive mountains on all 4 sides. Came with a California king bed. Sunlight over the bathroom and delicious complimentary breakfast. Turn left and it’s a 30 second walk to the town plaza, turn right and a 2 minute walk gets you to the ruins. When you head to Machu Picchu the road directly across heading downhill leads to the train station. We loved this little village in the mountains. Can be very touristy, but we took time to eat lunch at a local spot for 10 soles each and wonder off the beaten path a few times. Highly recommend. FIY laundry is not included. We learned after the fact they charge by the kilo for the wash and fold service. Which was true for our other Peru hotel. So seems to be a normal cultural thing.
