"We absolutely loved our stay here! We loved the atmosphere of the hotel, it felt like a good in between of a hotel and a ryokan. Then Onsen was amazing, I highly recommend going when they first open to avoid crowds during peak hours. The beds were probably my biggest complaint, they were not the most comfortable but they were not bad either. We did not have any of the food at the restaurant, we always went somewhere local. It’s a 5 minute walk from the Kyoto train station and there is a bus 2 blocks away that takes a direct route to downtown Kyoto."

"Nice quiet spot off the main road in Sanjo. Very close to Gion for nice night walks. Really close to the station to go to Fushimi Inari, etc. Staff was very helpful during check in but also helped us ship our bags. Three of us stayed in the premium triple room, and it was more spacious than I had anticipated! Very comfortable and quiet stay and was able to do laundry as well. For the location and comfort I would definitely stay again. "

"This hotel is in a wonderful location. Easy walk for many restaurants and tours close to the river. It's easy to catch a cab to go to other places. The staff was very friendly and informative, probably the best aspect of this hotel. The WiFi in the room was terrible. Mostly I gave up and used my cell service but I had to add more data on at a cost. The restaurant/bar wasn't available in the evenings. So, we couldn't meet in the bar for a drink before dinner. Although it's very common in the hotels we stayed in, I find it annoying that they won't come in and make your bed. I didn't want the sheets changed every day, but part of the enjoyment of being at a hotel is coming back to a bed that's made and I wasn't the one doing it. Here you could request full service or nothing. All in all I would probably stay here again because of location and staff. You should just know what you're getting."

"Hotel is right in the most action-filled areas of Kyoto, but as soon as you enter the lobby, it is peaceful. We had a party of three adults, so we booked one of the adjoining set of rooms, providing the luxury of two baths. Breakfast had good variety of Japanese and Western items, not quite as refined as other comparable hotels during our trip, but quite enjoyable. Pro tip: the coffee machine in the lobby next to the breakfast room makes better coffee than the one in the breakfast room. Overal, great visit. Would recommend."
