We had a great time in Okayama. We liked the castle and the korakuen.
While visiting Kita Ward, you might make a stop by sights like Kanko Stadium and Momotaro Arena.
If you're spending some time in Minami Ward, Setonaikai National Park and Okayama South Village are top sights worth seeing.
If you're spending some time in Naka Ward, Parade Hill Park and Busshin-ji Temple are top sights worth seeing.
While visiting Higashi Ward, you might make a stop by sights like Saidaijikannon-in Temple and Ani Shrine.

A dynamically modern university, resolutely open to the whole world, occupies a set of campus buildings scattered near Okayama’s downtown.
One of Western Japan’s biggest shopping malls has more than 300 shops, restaurants and more, just a few steps from the train station.
Try on a kimono or attempt to sculpt some Bizen pottery while you tour an accurate reconstruction of Kyushu’s famous “crow castle.”

After visiting the beautiful korakoen garden and castle, visit the nearby museum, visit the famous Kojima Jeans Street, take a ride on the Seto Ohashi bridge, walk around Kurashiki area. Take a day trip to the art island Naoshima.
It's a place to visit. Go Momotaro.
I recommend making a trip to Fukiya Furusato Village!! Also, there's a great Kanten jelly shop called Kanten Papa that I love that has a branch in Okayama City.
Okayama as a city is unremarkable (a typically post-War Japanese semi-industrial city). It has a wonderful park (Korakuen), a nice (reconstructed) castle and many interesting nearby areas of interest (especially in the Bizen--if you can find them.
Okayama city is much bigger than I expected. Traffic was heavy to get out the town .
