Simply a wonderful place. Five stars don't do it justice. Without a doubt, as their slogan says, it's a place to breathe in the middle of the city. Again, grateful for the last-minute room change and the recommendations. I was surprised by how spacious the entire hotel is and how many of the rooms are interconnected. It truly feels like being at home. The rooms we stayed in were very clean, and the ceiling fans were powerful enough to keep us cool. At first, I thought the breakfasts were very basic, but seeing the wide variety of restaurants nearby, I think they're sufficient and perfectly adequate. My advice for other travelers with cars is that they don't have their own parking lot or an agreement with a parking garage, but we managed to park in the lot around the corner for a good fixed price for the entire duration of our stay. 100% recommended.

Las Mariposas got excellent reviews from this site, so my expectations may have been overly high. We felt it was only OK. It's not too far away from the temple and museum of culture of Oaxaca and botanical gardens, but it's not right in the central pedestrian part of Oaxaca City or near Zocalo. Staff is well-meaning but pretty much Spanish only, and no-frills. The room we got was modest with a fan but no air conditioning, and had a tiny bathroom built-in which was kinda basic, not up to the standards of U.S. hotels, or any great amenities. On the other hand, it is Mexico and the price is quite reasonable.

El lugar es muy confortable, con un plus del café y el pan por las mañanas.Solo recomendaría unas cortinas más gruesas y desayuno desde las 7, ya que salimos temprano a los tours. En general sería mi primera opción al regresar a Oaxaca.
