"The building seemed to need a little upgrade. The room was basic. A step above a motel. The drawers would not stay closed after putting clothes in them and I had to remind the staff that it would be three people staying in the room and I needed towels for on more than one occasion. Also, breakfast was not refilled after nine and almost empty and put away at 9:30am "
"Hotel itself is great. We stay here often when we are in Berkeley. However staff are not trained for 5* hotel.
Front desk is polite the most. There is no 5* wording and mannerism. Wait staff is indifferent and tired most of the evenings we dined there. A man who served at breakfast in a cafe was consistently dismissive and gloomy. Considering high end prices we expected a bit more enthusiasm and friendliness typical for such properties. That attitude takes away from the experience. "
"Excellent location and comfortable hotel rooms. Quiet room and comfortable bed. The restaurant for breakfast should be avoided: food sat in the kitchen, was cold, inedible. Restaurant staff inattentive."
