Why pay for Backache
AWFUL. I arrived at the hotel for them to charge me for the room again then saying that i had not paid for the room online as they do not charge you online, so i had to ring my bank at 23:00 i didnt get checked in until 00:30 what ruined my night then to find the double bed i ordered was two singles pushed together and they wasnt even the same size beds one of the worse nights sleep ive had.
Hotel has his best time many year ago. Yes, room is clean, staff is nice, bed and beading is nice too. But what from this if the so caled HOTEL has no heating? Temperature in room is exactly the same like outside - around 10 C. Maybe Brits (and Eskimos) could live in - but not normal civiliized people. It is the hotel I will never returt, it will be warmer to sleep in car that in this so caled hotel. I advice to avoid.

It’s no lux resort, but the price I paid, for a night to crash after a lads night out, it was fine.
Was just stopping off on my way back from abroad. I've used this hotel several times and there is little wrong with it so I don't understand the poor reviews. It must be infrequent travellers expecting 5* at a 2* price. The place is fine and close to the centre, The Trip, the castle and not far from the station.
It is guest house paradiso. No hearing in rooms. I had to move rooms 3 times due to the smoking room stinking of smoke and being old and antique. 2nd Room I had a shower with no hot water and no heating in my room and I was freezing. 3rd room was a bit nicer and clean to an extent but no facilities such as iron or hair dryer. Awful cheap hotel that looks nothing like it does on the pictures and staff didn’t seem Concerned at my concerns. I should have asked for a refund
Hotel needs a refit our room had a damaged chair , stained carpet , cold , rock hard beds and dirty headboards and stained bed sheets.

Nice central location, really easy to get where you want to go. The bed however was quite hard and facilities not as good for what you can get from more well known chains that charge the same price. Parking is also a major issue, it was the best part of £15 for the car park directly opposite
In need of cleaning and decorating. Some very suspicious "herbal" odours in the corridors. Reception cold and unwelcoming. I know it was cheap for the city centre but won't be staying there again.
Stains all over the carpet blood spots on the bathroom tiles hair all over sink bed was terrible springs coming threw tbh Tramps lives better

They have this system that doesn´t really work in which I had to leave a sign "Please tidy up my room". Usually you have to leave the hanging note outside your room if you don´t want to be disturbed, but here it´s the other way around. So if the notice gets dropped, let´s say when somebody walks by, your room won´t get tidied up. it happend to me. I had to go down to reception for towels and the complementary tea. My key didn´t work half of the days I stayed at the hotel so I had to get down to so that the receptionist did whatever she did to it. It was never changed though, and it kept on happening. Also, I lost the tv connection. After somebody came to solve the problem, I could only see the first 5 channels until the following day. As i didn´t have wifi, I felt bored and frustrated. Wifi was 6 or 7 pounds per day, which I thought it was too much. On the positive side, the room was big and eerie. I had a portable heater and a blanket. Quantity of tea and coffee was alright, although the cups and teaspoons could have been better cleaned.
The hotel Cancelled my booking without warning or my knowledge, I had 1 email saying it was cancelled after I had already arrived for my stay, ridiculous service, will not be using hotels.com or Britannia hotel again
