Mantra Charles Hotel Launceston
10/10 Excellent
"Arrived early afternoon and got our free parking pass at reception. Reception staff efficient and welcoming, rooms clean air conditioner already on for our arrival. Sizeable bathroom with plenty of quality shampoo conditioner and body wash. Quiet room with very comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant. The food was good I had the wagyu burger my wife the gnocchi it came quickly, nicely prepared and well presented. Service was efficient however our waitress calling everybody “my dears” every time she came to the table was friendly enough to start but painful every other time. A decent wine list with quality wines by the glass at reasonable prices. All in all a great stay only for a night but a great place that we would certainly stay at in the future without hesitation."
Leisure Inn Penny Royal Hotel & Apartments
8/10 Good
"I was attracted to this property because of the adventure park right at the back. We were given the best room directly adjoining it. The room itself was interesting - the toilet was in one cubicle on the right side of the entry door and the shower was on the other side. Inside it was nothing but a hook. There were no towel rails for the shower. The only kitchen appliance was the jug. There was a small half length hanging space inside the cupboard next to the tea making. It was all very quaint. The staff were wonderful, very helpful. The outside of the apartments is so picturesque. The location is right near the walk to Cataract Gorge. Lovely restaurant right across the road. We also easily walked along the boardwalk. Brady's Tavern is at the back of the adventure park for another alternative. Was worried about the noise from the massive waterfall in the adventure park, and the ear plugs on the bedside table, but noise did not keep us awake. Small room, but functional. Enjoyed our stay."
