「Stayed one night, arrived late. Hosts Jes and Eileen very friendly on arrival. We were rather tired and just stayed in. Jes cooked a fantastic breakfast in the morning. Enjoyed our brief stay. The other guests were great also. So a lively breakfast conversation was held. Would easily stay here again, a few days would give you a good break. We were pressured by time to head back home.」

「Surprised to find out there are three ensuite (3 washroom + 1 disable washroom) in the house. Originally the website stated only have 2 washroom. The environment was nice, facing the wine yards. It has a jacuzzi and bbq area which was nice to try. Overall the house was good for our families. And we tried the fine dining in the restaurant also - service & food was good. If there are more clothes hangers and hook for clothes - that will be great.」

「My partner and I travelled from Auckland to Matakana for a weekend away. We took my elderly mother with us and the accommodation for our trio was Perfect!! The Room was spacious, clean and very well equipped. The area is quiet and right in the river. The only issue we had was the mosquitoes- which was our fault for leaving the doors opened because the weather was so perfect!! The room did provide Bug Spray which we were grateful for!! We totally recommend this property!」

「Grafton Cottage was so fantastic we changed our stay from 1 night to 3 nights after the first night. Albie (owner) is very personable and accommodating - just basically lovely. The chalet we had our first night was a cute bedsit and had a good view out over the bay. Full cooking facilities, lots of hot water and a spa & pool right by the door. After the first night we loved it so much we asked Albie if we could stay another 2 nights and he had a 2 story chalet free for us which he only...

「The Hotel is a bit dated and needs a refreshing. All the lights on the way to our room were off and most disappointing, the pool was closed due to an outage. This can happen of course, but any kind of compensating this, was refused. We would have expected any sign to adjust the loss of using the pool area. It is that that reception was not willing to do so. As a consequence we did not use the restaurant on our second day. This behavior is not a 4 star hotel behavior. That's a pity.」

「The resort was lovely, our unit was spacious, the kitchen was equipped with all you would need in a very nice way, not just provide the basic and budget ones. Loved how sitting room, living room, kitchen, bathroom & toilet are nicely separated, would come back again in the future! PS: you can leave your luggage there for FREE」
