"Clean room, comfortable queen mattress, bathroom is updated and was fresh. There was a small portable heater that was perfect for just adding a small amount of heat during the evening. There was a microwave, small refrigerator, tv( did not even turn it on) and wifi, luggage rack, love seat, 4 cup coffee pot and supplies. Mobility friendly except the two steps to check in at the office. Friendly couple for our check in and check out. Just heads up checkin has to be done before 730pm according to my email. Would stay here again, great value for a very affordable cost. And close(10ish minutes) to Petawawa's amenities."

"There was no hot water in the room and the mattress was worn out and lacked support. I left with a back ache. When I brought the lack of hot water to their attention in the morning, I was told “yeah room # - doesn’t have hot water in the sink, you should have tried the shower.” There was no way I was going to shower with cold water. No price adjustment was made. The property has a beautiful view of the lake, and a quaint ambiance. I want to support local business, and I did not want to travel to a large chain hotel in Pembroke, even for a cheaper price. Overall, the Sands could use some improvements. For the $200 price, I was seriously disappointed. Make the trek to a better hotel for your money. It had recently snowed, and the walkway was not cleared at all. "
