I think it may have been a language barrier issue as we don’t speak Italian and he doesn’t speak English and he didn’t have much patience for translating. We also found the men who checked us in were not very welcoming. For such a beautiful hotel the front desk people should be much more welcoming. "We really enjoyed our experience here in the "Hobbit House" While small it was generally well appointed, except for the self-catering being restrictive. The service was super friendly, the breakfast was good the hosts generous with their offerings and range of food. Good access to Alberobello and Matera for day visits."
