Right in the middle of everything in Nimes. So many excellent choices were within a 5 to 10 min walk. No elevator but the staff took our luggage up and down for us. Did not have breakfast (which looked great) because we went to a different cafe every day to take in the world. I would stay here again.

Characterful small central hotel

We enjoyed our stay in this old but sympathetcally modernised building. It's very central, as the name suggests, and only a short, pleasant, walk from the station. Friendly and helpful people, not a bad breakfast. Spotlessly clean, if slightly faded and no lift but that goes with the building. Good value for what and where it is, we will probably stay again.

Un bon séjour dans un hôtel plein de charme

Je passe toujours un agréable séjour dans cet hôtel idéalement situé, à deux pas des arènes et du centre-ville. Le personnel est très accueillant, et le petit-déjeuner est plutôt de bonne qualité. L’hôtel a conservé son caractère d’antan, ce qui lui confère un charme unique. Cependant, un point important mérite d’être corrigé : la douche. Dans les chambres supérieures, le réglage de l’eau chaude pose problème. Le bouton tourne dans le vide, et l’eau oscille entre brûlante et froide, rendant l’utilisation très compliquée. Malgré ce désagrément, l’hôtel offre un bon rapport qualité-prix. Je le recommande, en espérant que cet aspect sera amélioré prochainement.

l'Amphitheatre hotel provided an acceptable place to stay for 2 nights in Nimes. The price was fair and affordable. The location was very good for pedestrian access to Nimes attractions, dining and shopping. Our room overlooked a charming retail square but it was bit noisy as restaurants cleaned up at closing and with some early morning garbage pick-up. There was no elevator but the hotel did possess some amount of charm.

Great location.

Nice hotel, though we only used it for sleeping. Didnt have breakfast as there were plenty of places for petit dejeuner close by. Could have done with better lighting on second staircase, quite dark in places. Good location, though noisey at night if you have windows open.

Convenient location. Able to leave luggage both coming and going, and sat in lounge area waiting for rain to stop. Friendly staff. Beautiful bathtub but only a handheld shower head.

This hotel was booked by me through Expedia. Hotel had our booking, but were fully booked out and they booked us into another hotel. Was very disappointed, spent our last day, trudging about with cases. Second hotel was not half as convenient or central. We were very upset by this.

2 Sleepless and uncomfortable nights

Very friendly and helpful staff and great location. However, hotel comfort was much to be desired. The mattress was not fit for purpose and we had two very bad nights sleep despite asking for a room change after the first night. There very several issues with this hotel, the noise from the streets until early hours of the morning (windows could not be closed), the bed mattress in both rooms were fit for a dolls house (extremely uncomfortable and hollow), showers in both rooms did not function correctly, the lighting system was confusing and did not for work correctly, heating only worked in one of the two rooms.

We enjoyed our stay here other than being on the top floor with no lift. Also we were persuaded to have breakfast and that there was gluten free corn bread, this was a lie, so i was very overcharged for my breakfast and annoying given that there was a gluten free cafe in the area.

Very nice service, welcoming staff and a good experience all around. The room was spacious and clean, the hotel has character and is perfectly located in the old town.

Great location, affordable rate, courteous staff. The amenities were just OK. AC was not working in the first room we got. The staff was very accommodating and immediately moved us to a better room with working AC. Standard rooms are small and beds in these rooms are very basic, to say the least. Premium rooms are more spacious and have better beds, so we recommend booking these. Breakfast is very basic and we did not feel it was worth 13 Euro per person.

Fantastic location, fantastic stay

A fantastic location for accessing everything there is to see and do in Nîmes. There was a concert at the Arena the evening I stayed, however the noise wasn’t bad at all. Excellent value, with Arthur and his team providing a wonderful service. Merci beaucoup!

O hotel encontra-se bem localizado, mas não tem estacionamento e perdemos quase 1hora nas ruas estreitas até encontrar o estacionamento mais proximo. O hotel deveria alertar os viajantes sobre esta particularidade da sua localização e fornecer um mapa de locais de estacionamentos na reserva.

très vieil hôtel charmant, chambre très spacieuse. Bon, dans la salle de bain c'est une baignoire ovale. Impossible de se doucher sans mettre de l'eau partout. Lits jumeaux accolés et non fixés qui glissent donc se séparent... Enfin, attention au personnes ayant des difficultés de mobilités pour accèder aux chambres.

The place was just as shown in pictures. It is like a museum with the various antiquities inside. It is dated however the place suffices when you’re staying for a few nights. Cleanliness of the washrooms can be a bit of work but theres hot and cold showers. A huge plus is that it’s located centrally so you can go in and around the greatest hits of the city. Charming hotel in a charming city!!

L’accueil était bon et le personnel agréable. Cependant cela ne compense pas l’état de la literie ce qui devrait pourtant être la base pour un hôtel, on a vraiment l’impression de dormir sur une planche de bois tellement la literie est mauvaise et encore c’est si on arrive à dormir! Heureusement que c’était que pour une nuit parce notre dos va avoir du mal à s’en remettre. Les équipements sont à revoir, les lampes de chevet ne marchaient pas, il y avait du moisi dans la salle de bain. Si encore le prix était bas, mais non! plus de 150€ pour un chambre standard car prix gonflé à cause de la période et la proximité avec les arènes. Bref à éviter si vous souhaiter un séjour confortable.

Les = Bel hôtel, bon secteur pour la marche, près des Arènes Les - - - = Beaucoup mais beaucoup de bruits, de cris à l’extérieur et ce jusqu’aux petites heures du matin. Même avec des bouchons dans les oreilles, il est impossible de dormir. Et pour en rajouter, vers 5h30, la municipalité passe avec un camion citerne et un jet pour nettoyer les rues, et ça dure plusieurs heures…Une chambre ne donnant PAS sur la rue est à privilégier ABSOLUMENT.

Hotel de L'Amphitheatre is perfectly located. When you walk out the front door the arena is right there. Despite its very close proximity to a busy area the hotel is very quiet. We stayed for 3 nights and it was great. The room was bright, spacious and clean albeit simple. Artur was so helpful and friendly. He carried our very heavy bags up to our room while we went to park the car. If you have a car it will be tricky because you can't drive into the old town. There are several underground parking garages but they are quite expensive, 28eur per day. We warned the building is ancient and well maintained but there is no elevator so ask for a room on the lower floors if possible. It is a great place to stay, I highly recommend it.

Very near the amphitheater and many restaurants. The street by the hotel was very noisy the night we were there, with road cleaning, bins being collected, etc.

Mycket nöjd med vår vistelse då hotellet ligger väldigt centralt till både sevärdheter med arenan precis runt hörnet och även nära till restauranger och shopping. Fint stort rum och även badkar på rummet, stort plus från min sida. Bra service och frukost, ordnade gärna ägg och extra bröd om så önskades utan extra kostnad.
