「Although my wife and I had terrible problems getting to the hotel, but it was worth it for the amazing views we had once we got there. We arrived by train at Bubikon, and had hoped there would be a bus that would take us up to the hotel, but they only went half way. A taxi would have been very expensive, but, fortunately a very kind lady offered to drive us up to the hotel. The hotel was lovely. The staff were very kind, happy and helpful, and the food was superb. We only stayed one night but...

「Stayed 2 nights in the historic room located in the Lowen Haus that is stunning! Felt like I was in an Architecture Digest video. Service was excellent and so was dinner at the a la carte restaurant; I may even say I had the best meals by far during my 1 week in Switzerland. While the surrounding area is relatively quiet, location of the hotel is just a short walk from Gonten station which takes you to Appenzell town within 15 minutes.
