Excellent, convenient location to stay during the Wigtown book festival. Particular highlight being the friendly, informative staff. We were delighted to experience the delicious Scottish breakfast each morning, ingredients sourced from local farms.

Good hotel

Decent hotel a little old, very quiet and clean, wifi good, good breakfast. Plenty bars restraunts close by, entrance to car park tight parking out front on main road but parking spaces go quick, definitely would stay again.

It was clean and the staff offered to help with any bags or see us to our room. We stayed one night on our way through town. This is an old building. It was exactly what we expected and needed. If you want a new hotel this is not it. You will be disappointed. However, it is quiet, worn but clean, cozy, and very convenient at a very reasonable price.

While the outside of the building has seen better days the staff were very helpful, there was motorcycle parking I was comfortable with , and the room was spacious and clean. Pub next door did a decent dinner.

Room was large, and adequately decorated for the price of the room. No bar / restaurant which was a shame, needed to go toanother pub along the road. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was lovely, not much options but good. Would go back if need a quick over night stop.

Hotel very run down, maintenance non existent. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling above bed. Dust everywhere, unable to see out of windows so dirty. Crack in bathroom sink, bath stained and dirty. One bed was stained terrible down the side. On the up breakfast was lovely but tables very sticky so crockery sticking. Apparently this hotel was/is used for homeless people?
