It was a wonderful, yet too brief, one night stay. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Our meal in the informal dining/pub options was nourishing and delicious. The room was clean, large, and bright. We were able to get a room facing back garden and with views. A big pot of tea and a freshly pressed coffee were very nice at breakfast. Local walks on the moor, and to the quarry & rocks and were fab.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace looking over the gardens and countryside, and relaxing in the elegant and comfortable lounge. Great staff, friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious, great views and well equipped, and nicely laid out. Good food too. A great place to stay in Dartmoor.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. The hotel is comfortable and welcoming and sits right on the edge of the moor. Good road access to all areas. Bed, shower were great, meals were tasty (nice breakfast selection) and the staff were always very friendly and helpful. There are 2 areas for eating - the large bar and conservatory; the menus differ slightly in each. Nice terrace with parasols for al fresco dining. The lounge area was really pleasant to sit in after an evening meal - one night a live pianist was playing ( hits from last 50 years) and he was very good. A selection of board/card games were available if required. Would definitely stay again.
