I stayed here about 2 years ago when it was under Sonder and we had a pretty positive experience! They advertise themselves appropriately so I knew we weren’t getting some snazz hotel by any means. Decided to go again this year because i know this is a great budget choice for the area. Location is stellar. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. Parking was fine and right up to the hotel. Check-in was easy and convenient. Received texts during the stay checking in to see if we needed anything. But the cleanliness of the room….i walked in and took my shoes off and immediately felt dirt and debris on my feet. After 5 minutes I had black on my feet. Quite literally someone must have not swept. We did not pay for a balcony room so no windows or anything for airflow. It was SO humid in the room. More than it was outside by the beach. We ran our A/C on different settings to try to accommodate but the entire stay felt sticky. The bathroom did generally feel clean aside from the floors but you can see the wear on the sink drain, marks/stains on the walls. Bedside tables were sticky and had crumbs on it. It felt like staying in a trendier motel. The nearest stairwell exit by my room led us to pass a staff/cleaning hallway. So they’re not trying to really hide the behind the scenes from you. My husband wasn’t as bothered by it as me, especially because we were out most of the day and he wore socks in the room the whole time. I just never felt fully clean the entire stay.

this is the second worst hotel I have ever stayed in, only exceeded by a motel on the outskirts of Bakersfield on a Rodeo weekend! The entry and the lobby are horrible. The hallways and the elevator had sticky floors. The room wasn't clean and the bathroom was disgusting. There isn't a closet in the room to hang clothing. Trash cans in the hallways and the lobby weren't emptied. The entire place needs a total make over! I have no idea how anybody rated this place above a half star. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. Trust me, you will thank me!

We stay here annually. Location is convenient, probably the main reason to book here. Rooms are comfortable. Carpet in the halls could use a cleaning and the AC was a little noisy this year but those are my only real complaints. For first timers, parking is tight so plan for smaller rental vehicle to prevent struggles.

It’s a basic room, like one you might stay in if you were undercover and just needed a spot to sleep before you went out searching for clues. You don’t stay here because you want a vacation. But the bed is clean, the toilet it clean, the shower is clean. It works.

Situé le long d'une route parallèle au bord de mer, le Solarena offre de belles chambres à l'arrière du site et une piscine. J'ai refusé une chambre située en contrebas de la route très passagère et bruyante. J'ai séjourné 2 nuits dans cet hôtel de Newport Beach qui est un accès très pratique pour le sud de Los Angelès vers San Diego. Il n'y a pas besoin de prendre une place de parking car on trouve facilement à se garer dans lescrues adjacentes.

The staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the location as we could simply walk across the street to the beach or walk to nearby cafes and restaurants. The room was just what we needed.

So the hotel says beachfront but it is not actually beachfront it is 2 blocks from then beach and there is a very busy street right in front of hotel. The room was supposed to be ready by 3, however, when we got to the hotel at 3:15 our room was not ready. They gave us a room facing the street and it was very loud and noisy.

The room was like lipstick on a pig. The walls were paper thin. The bed was very lumpy. They charge you for parking, above and beyond your room price. In short I’ve stayed in nicer Motel 6’s. It also seems as though there is not enough parking for all the rooms they have.

In the middle of the night, my bathroom sink begin to fill up with water from the drain upstairs I think. The gurgling bubbles smelled terrible. I sent staff a video. Staff put me into another room that night. This room had a tub with a very slow drain so when we took a shower, we were wading in water. On a positive note staff was very pleasant and professional. Also another positive note was they had chairs for people to use on the beach which was handy. Location was awesome, but I’m not sure I would go back.
