It’s like stepping back in time to visit a town, farm, colliery village and old hall and getting to experience what it was like to live in those places from about 1910 onwards. There are staff who take on the roles of various locals that really bring this place to life. Had a lovely relaxing time with my girlfriend and her husband, room was so clean and had everything we needed, absolutely loved being able to log into Netflix on the tv which was a great size. We were checked in by a lovely young man who also served us our food, he was very attentive and even brought us extra sides for our burgers. Exceptional service from a lovely lady who served us breakfast and made sure we had fresh coffee immediately, she was also fantastic with all other customers. We will definitely be back soon, if not for another night away, certainly food and drinks.

atmospheric Keelman & Big Lamp Brewery

Lovely setting and excellent environment for exploring the walks and cycle paths along the banks of the Tyne. the Keelman has a vibrant atmosphere with lots of local families and other visitors. we have stayed here several times and will not hesitate to return in future.

The staff are very hospitable and professional. We had an easy check in and the rooms were lovely. Dinner and breakfast were top notch! We were able to get a good recommendation for Hadrians Haulers as well. Thank you it was a delightful experience.

Weekend getaway

Great 3 night stay at the Keelman. Check in nice and easy, staff friendly and very helpful. Room was good, big enough for us, and had all we needed, bed comfortable, shower really good, clean and tidy. (Maybe could do with a fridge) the surroundings were very nice, a short walk to the Riverside park. Bar and restaurant were lovely, and nice outside sitting area. Food and beers excellent, especially the Prince Bishop, would definitely stay here again

Great for Newcastle Airport - Quality Beers

Very attentive, enthusiatic team running check ins and the bar/kitchen. Rooms are a little tired, but the location is great. Huge courtyard and plenty of indoor seating for dining/drinking. Beer battered Fish and Chips highly recommended with a pint of Prince Bishop. Food, Beers and accommodation all very good value.
