Couldn’t comment on breakfast, left before it was served. Room was very comfortable, very clean and plenty tea, coffee, water and the biscuits in the room were a nice touch. Definitely would stay again.

Excellent breakfast and all staff encountered were friendly and efficient. The hotel was very well located. There were homeless people sleeping next to our car in the car park which wasn’t nice but I told the reception staff who immediately arranged for them to be moved on.

Room looked clean until we looked under furniture for missing gloves only to find several days worth of dust,bottle corks etc lying Breakfast staff were excellent, food average. Reception staff unhelpful about lost property.Several problems with door key cards failing. Great area though, handy for train station,shops,restaurants,quayside.

I really liked this hotel. Conveniently located near train station but quiet. My only concern was that the restaurant is very limited in its offerings (primarily chicken). I was glad to see a broader range of options for breakfast, at least. Overall a nice hotel but I wouldn’t count on the restaurant for dinner.

Enjoyable stay

Stayed here for a couple of nights for the great north run. It was a tad pricey but that’s down to how popular the city is at this weekend. The hotel put on an earlier breakfast and extras for runners and in fairness the breakfast was excellent. The room was a good size and clean too. Great location and has a car park attached although with today’s cars the spaces can be tight
