Ink 48 is conveniently located near the Manhattan cruise terminal, but the service was disappointing. We arrived at the 3:00 p.m. check-in time only to be told our Hudson View Suite wouldn’t be ready for 45 minutes. Chivez at the front desk was rude, offering no assistance or alternatives. After asking another staff member, Omar—who was professional and helpful—was able to find us a clean room in the same category, which made us question the original delay.
The room was spacious and comfortable by NYC standards, but had several issues: the phone didn’t work, bath products were missing, and the vanity mirror was broken. At checkout, I reported these to Chivez, who was dismissive and sarcastic, even asking, “Well, did you at least take a shower?” He took no notes and didn’t seem to care.
I later called the hotel to speak with a manager. The person who answered was evasive and wouldn’t connect me. Minutes later, Chivez called me back instead, though he was the reason I wanted to speak with management. He claimed the manager, Greg, would call me—he never did.
While Omar was the one positive part of our stay, overall service was poor, and the staff lacked professionalism and accountability. We won’t be staying at Ink 48 again.
