Bankinn - Hotel by Aldan

10/10 Excellent
"Cozy room in a lovely old converted bank. Lovely breakfast in the restaurant nearby. Helpful staff. As per other travellers, it is not the easiest to find the entrance: it’s behind the street in a big old white house with no sign - actually Google Maps was spot on but I got a bit confused and had to phone to double check. Suggest therefore you arrive at a decent time if you can (the road to the village is spectacular but a little hair-raising at times, so best done in daylight anyway!). Lovely village and we wish we’d had more time there."

"Cool little hotel room. Nice view on the fjord. Check in was easy, a bit odd that there is no one at reception on checkout. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is in a good spot in town, although it’s a pretty small town so I guess anywhere would be ok. One thing to note- some websites say the exhibition is included with the hotel stay. That’s not true, it’s like a 10% discount. Also parking is a bit of an issue so if you have mobility problems might not be a good spot for you."

"I so rarely write a review but felt compelled to for this adorable property right in the center of the tiny yet adorable town of Seyðisfjörður. The room was a wi ferrule size, clean, with balcony and view of the lagoon. We were on the second floor room 201. The very sweet lady who owned the 10 room guest house could not have been more available or helpful. If you want a wonderful place to stay on this stage of your trip you could not find a better spot to lay your head!"

"Superb service. They went out of their way to help us out on couple of occasions. All other stays on our trip, no one else had a TV, this one had a TV, fridge, microwave in the room. Jonas, the manager walked around the breakfast area and was engaging with all the patrons. The room it self does need a makeover and the management knows that as Jonas himself confided they will be remodeling next year."

"Extremely clean and cozy! Loved our stay. Room is very small but that was expected. Bathroom and bedroom were clean and comfortable. The separate kitchen room has all the needed amenities, and we loved the sitting rooms through the hotel. Walkable to lots of restaurants. 10/10 stay."

"The hotel was easy to get to and clean, there was always staff available. The lights didn’t work well in our room, the switches wouldn’t work sometimes or if they did they would shut off all the lights or one of them but it always seemed like a different light. Bathroom was nice, desk was great and so was breakfast. Would stay here again if I was planning more sightseeing in the area"

"An affordable gem! It's not a typical hotel with a front desk, but everything was well-organized and communication was good. We were delighted to have access to laundry facilities (only one large washer and one large dryer, so they were in constant demand), along with a large, bright, cheery well-equipped communal kitchen - it was great fun mingling with many other international travelers preparing their meals there! Our rooms were roomy, clean, quiet and comfortable. Easy parking, a nice harbor front location just a few blocks from the town center, and a fun little waterfall hike right next door to the guesthouse."
