I prefer properties whose have staff present at all times. Though lost key was no one’s fault, still it was inconvenient. However response to the problem was very prompt! Coffeemaker exploded, malfunction reported to morning staff.
GardenSong is in a great location! We were able to walk to places we wished to visit in the downtown area. Self check-in worked well.
My only issue involves food/drink. A message from GardenSong indicated "Southern Breakfast Included." A second message indicated "Help yourself to a complimentary beverage in your room upon your arrival - cereals and yogurts are available as well." However, we did not notice any food or beverage in the room fridge. I still would recommend this place! I just wish the food service was explained better.
There were 3 of us on a girls trip so we stayed in the Clark Gable suite - it was perfect! We all had plenty of room to spread out, store our stuff and have fun. The house itself is lovely and we felt at home there. The staff was so friendly and helpful.
We loved the downtown location and everything was within walking distance. There was even a sweet little kitty cat, named Rusty, that greeted us each day! We absolutely loved our stay!

Enjoyed the area and easy access to the downtown. The seating arrangement was not the best in this particular room.

Classic 1800's house..
Antiques, high ceilings,
I loved the record player in the Nat King Cole Suite
We listened to Nat on the balcony!!
Enjoyed the stay. The rooms were clean and the property well kept. I wish the selections of channels on thw tv wouldve been better. We were never able to connect to the wifi bit the breakfast vouchers were a very nice substitute for no breakfast at the actual Bed and Breakfast.
My wife and I booked this on a last-minute anniversary getaway and it was wonderful. We stayed in the Nat King Cole Suite. The parking in front of the house was really convenient. The emailed instructions made "check-in" smooth (code for the front door & keys were in the door for the room we reserved.)
It was about 20 degrees outside so we didn't do much walking or spend much time on the private balcony, but the room had an electric heater which kept us plenty warm.
The king bed was super comfortable.
Plenty of local and fast food options within a 5 mile radius.
The only negative was the limited channels on the TV. It says "satellite" tv, but it was pretty basic. Networks and a few other random channels. But if you're picking this place for the TV, then you're missing the point. It was a great, quiet, relaxing room that we plan to return to (and maybe book the Clark Gable room next door for the kids).
We had a great time just relaxing! We sat on the balcony in the evening and enjoyed the sound of the fountain and enjoyed rocking and talking on the front porch, in the garden, and playing the piano. We walked all over Natchez. It was a great time of year for coming! There was a situation with the bathroom when we first arrived that was quickly resolved and staff was very accommodating and friendly. The bed was comfortable. The only issue we would have is that we prefer a room to be very cool for sleeping and the a/c didn’t seem to be keeping up. It got kinda hot. Over all it is a lovey little guest house on a quiet street within a nice walking distance of many things- perfect for just relaxing and moseying around.
There was a phone number to call at check in and when I arrived at 3:15 pm and called there was no answer. I never received a call back. There were portable cups of cereal for breakfast in the bathroom area and roaches in the house.
The town was nice but a stay isn’t recommended.

we didn't stay there - we were not in natchez in Oct. Expedia kept sending notices of our upcoming visit, but they gave us no way to let them know the booking was an error
Beautiful, historic house located in walking distance to the downtown area. However, after we got in the Clark Gable Suite, we had to kill a couple of wasps, which we think came in through gaps around the window AC unit. Not a huge deal, but the kids were wary to sleep in that room. Also, in the main room, as we were about to turn in for the night, water began to drip from the ceiling then poured down the wall briefly before stopping thankfully. It was probably something to do with the room upstairs, but still unsettling. Other than that and a minor leak in the bathroom sink, the room was nice enough and we enjoyed staying in a historical home.
The property is conveniently located within Natchez. Overall lovely accommodated and unique, but something is off or missing.... Maybe it’s that we never saw our host or that it’s a B&B and there was no breakfast..??..
Let me begin by stating that both the house and the room we stayed in were lovely. Our experience at Garden Song B&B was very disappointing. There were many options available to us in Natchez, but we booked our room (through Hotels.com) specifically because it was small, and it included breakfast which we feel is safer during this time of COVID. This was a non-refundable rate of $165 per night. We immediately received an email back stating, “Please remember that our discounted rates do not include breakfast.” According to the Natchez B&B Association, Garden Song rates are $135-$165 per night. I emailed Dan, the proprietor back and had no response. The next morning, I called and left a message and received no response. We didn’t care about a big breakfast but wanted to avoid having to go out to get it. Since we had paid upfront, we felt we had no choice but to check-in.
Part of the B&B experience is to be able to gain local information from the proprietor. We never saw a single person the entire time we were there. We did, however, hear from a dog, that we assume was crated somewhere in the house the first night. The poor animal howled and whimpered until 2:30 in the morning, keeping us awake.
We recognize that these are extraordinary times we are living in, requiring flexibility. We do feel a bare minimum requirement when booking a room is the ability to communicate directly with the proprietor.
The management were extremely helpful in facilitating our check-in to coincide with our baby's nap times. The house was in wonderful condition and a pleasure to stay in. Katie the cook catered to dietary requirements at breakfast. All in all, a fabulous place highly recommended.
The homeowner Dan, is absolutely the best! Made sure we had everything we needed and gave great advice for food and shopping. Ms Cathy served us a fabulous breakfast each day with the most amazing grits I have ever had! I’m so glad my best friend and I chose Garden Song for our weekend getaway. We will definitely be back!
