It was not what i paid for, the staff was not understanding and sent me and my wife to an even worse location with roaches the tried to separate us in differnt rooms. It was not at all what it looked like on the website and the breakfast was not included like it said

Die absolute Horrorunterkunft. Hier versucht jemand ohne Gegenleistung von den Bahamas als Luxusziel zu profitieren. Die Fotos sind völlig falsch dargestellt. Die Einrichtung ist total abgewohnt und in großen Teilen kaputt. Das Wasser fließt nur ab und an und dann in Tropfenform. Es gibt keine Bettwäsche, Balkontüren sind nicht verriegelbar. Das Schlimmste aber ist der Schimmel an allen Orten. Da die Klimaanlage nicht funktioniert, steht in den Räumen eine widerliche, krank machende Luft, die dir zum Teil den Atem verschlägt. An den Decken und Wänden arbeitet sich der Schimmel durch das übergemalerte Weiß und lässt einem den Atem stocken. Dies ist eine Unterkunft, die niemand nutzen sollte. Völlig unabhängig, ob Backpacker oder sonst wer. Das hat auch alles nichts mit den Ansprüchen zu tun. Hier werden unfassbare Preise für absolut gar keine Gegenleistung aufgerufen. Es geht in Richtung Betrug und es ist eine Schande, dass dieser Schuppen überhaupt bei Expedia gelistet ist. Bucht dieses Hostel auf keinen Fall, ihr habt Geld für gar nichts bezahlt und auch keinen Ansatz vor Ort davon etwas wiederzusehen.

What a neat place right on the water. Very unassuming and casual international hostile. The private rooms are nice as well. Chef Sherman will cook you some fresh fish, great place to unwind and relax.

Flooding in room next door

Private room that we booked with the expectation of a balcony had no windows, was in the basement, and the room next was flooding so our room and the hallway smelled damp. Luckily we were only there for one short night as we had an early morning flight. Facilities seemed nice, beautiful view and nice resturants were walkable.

We stayed for two nights. Including tax, we paid $470 Canadian (350 USD). It was not good value for money. I sent an email prior to our arrival requesting a room on the top floor. Upon check-in, we were put in a room directly beside the lobby on the main floor. It was extremely loud. The first night, two people were screaming fighting at 1am. The second night, someone was apparently trying to checkin at 6am and continuously yelled “HELLO” at the front desk. A big issue was that there was NO SHOWER in our room. We only had a bathtub. At this price point, there should be a shower.. Also, this was an ocean view room, but due to the fact that our balcony was a common shared area, people were always sitting directly outside our room which meant we had to keep the curtains closed at all times. People were yelling on phone calls on the balcony until late. The sliding glass door was so drafty that we had to stuff the cracks with towels to reduce the draft so the curtains would stay shut. The facilities are very run down. Pros: bus stops directly outside the hotel, there are a few good restaurants within a 5-min walk, beach is very close, staff was pretty friendly. Cons: everything else.

The location of this property was amazing! Right on the water, next to a public beach, near a lot of restaurants (Spritz and twisted Lime are very good!), and it’s very easy to get into downtown Nassau by bus. The beds are comfortable, the staff is very friendly, and there’s plenty to do around. It was also great if you just wanted to lounge and read a book. The facilities could use some investment, especially in the kitchen as well as some furniture upgrades, but overall a very good stay.

N’y allait pas en couple

Nous avons séjourné dans une chambre double, certes spacieuse avec vue mer et un balcon « soit disant privatif », mais en réalité nous avons été déçu, car l’hôtel est très bruyant. La chambre se trouvant au RDC à proximité des lieux de vie de cette auberge de jeunesse (accueil, piscine...), nous avons été dérangé par le bruit à tout heure de la journée et de la nuit (des gens qui passaient leurs coup de fil, qui regardaient un film sans écouteurs, qui mettaient la musique jusque tard dans la nuit ...)

The hostel location is great, with a very nice patio and sea views. Bus stop at the front and stores, gym, restaurants at walking distance. Everything was very clean. To improve: WiFi is only available by reception desk and there’s a kitchen but it could use more/new kitchenware.

I loved the view and closeness to the sea. I did not like that they advertised free breakfast and nothing was provided.It cost 10.00 and you had to order it. Plus Air conditioning was out in room, no screens had to open sliding door wall to get air as it was hot and smelled strongly of mold. I had problems breathing and had to leave door open. People were walking by outside and the last night before we left were talking way past when it was supposed to be quiet right outside my bed area..Mere feet away. Anyone could have walked in but had to open for health reasons. Property as a whole needs a facelift.It was once beautiful but is rather run down looking now and a bit shabby.If you are a young backpacker this could be your place but as an older traveler who appreciates the comfort of a clean quiet room it was not a good fit for us.We will not go back. There were many things advertised that were not true. Description of facilities needs updating.

Thelma, chef, and staff felt like family! They ran a quaint, tidy location, a true Oasis with plenty of options to stay near the site and about 20 minutes from downtown Nassau. All the lovely travelers here were pleasant, great company. Loved it here; will come back.

This is the worst accommodation I have ever had. It is substandard by any measure. The toilet barely flushes, the bathtub is clogged. There is no shower, only a hand-held piece on the tub, but there is also no shower curtain so if you use the hand-held piece you spray the whole bathroom. The lighting in the bathroom is inadequate. The room itself is dark, dingy and depressing. It is on the ground floor and gives onto busy West Bay Street. It is furnished with cheap, beat up furniture. The bed is uncomfortable and you can feel the springs. There is a ductless air conditioning unit above the bed which is so noisy with a clinking metallic sound that you can’t use it and even if you could it would blow right on you which would not be comfortable. There is also a ceiling fan with a bare light bulb which is equally noisy and you can’t leave the window open because there is no screen and it is on the ground floor so you don’t know what might crawl in. Besides there is too much traffic noise. For all this they charge $US170/night. They also insist on putting a wrist band on you when you check in as if you were in hospital.

Excellent service from the staff. Bunk was clean and comfortable. Chef and front desk was very nice. Location was good with multiple stores nearby. Overall good experience but it would’ve been nice to have better signage at the entrance. I was dropped off by taxi from airport and once the driver left it was confusing as to where to go. It was hot and I was tired and alone and couldn’t find the entrance. Turns out entrance is tucked away behind a wall and up the stairs which I only realized after circling the building and walking along the shoulder of the road with my luggage. Initial experience was not good but I can see that the property is well maintained and caters well to all guests. Would give 7/10 instead of 10/10 just because of the confusion as to where the entrance was.

I loved that it was right on the beach and right across the street from the gym! Location is amazing! Staff is very nice especially Helen who works the front desk. I love that there is a chef on site for the days that I do not want to cook! You can also do your laundry at this location for a small fee which is an additional bonus!!!
