Stayed one night, arrived late. Hosts Jes and Eileen very friendly on arrival. We were rather tired and just stayed in. Jes cooked a fantastic breakfast in the morning. Enjoyed our brief stay. The other guests were great also. So a lively breakfast conversation was held. Would easily stay here again, a few days would give you a good break. We were pressured by time to head back home.

Comfortable Accommodation

Friendly reception from Eileen on arrival. Lovely suite but a bit dated but it had everything we needed for a comfortable and pleasant stay. Drinks and nibbles at Happy Hour was a nice touch. Great breakfast selections. Sky TV wasn't working but it didn't affect our experience. Bed was comfortable, great shower.

Lovely place, wonderful setting

First stay in a B&B. We weren't sure what to expect!! Three night stay. Very clean and comfortable. couldn't fault!! Excellent hosts. We loved our stay.

A wonderful stay

The garden was beautiful and serene. The room and lodge were charming, the bed was very comfortable. The hosts were warm, generous and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious, as was the dinner platter we had. Thanks again Eileen and Jess.

Cute little place

Esk Valley Lodge is the home of Jes and Eileen Roddy, a very lovely and warm couple... They rent out three rooms, which all come with an ensuite bathroom.... breakfast is provided too. The lodge is a short drive away from Napier where the restaurants are.. but the place is lovely cos its quiet and homely.. comes with its own garden, which was nice in winter, but even nicer in summer I imagine. We stayed on a clear night and got a wonderful view of the stars too.

Great stay!

Lovely lodge, amazing location and great sized, clean rooms. Breakfast was also very very good. Amazing, relaxing stay despite winter weather.

Can't beat this B&B

Outstanding place to stay - close to everything but in a beautiful rural setting. Excellent breakfast. Optional dinner one night was very good. Nearby winery with restaurant was also very good.

What a wonderful place to stay. Close to wineries and Napier. Great breakfast with the food sourced from the area. The room was very comfortable and had views of the vinyards and gardens. Really enjoyed our stay as everything was conveniently located.

Eskdale Escape

Wonderful private escape, with beautiful gardens and surroundings and friendly hosts. Still very close to Napier and surrounds, but so lovely and relaxing to come home to after a days sightseeing

We loved our stay at Esk Valley Lodge, which is about 15 min by car from Napier. The hosts Eileen and Jes were delightful people and very helpful. The room was immaculate and the house garden was excellent and enjoyable to spend time in; not to mention that we were free to pick up any fruit that was ripe on the trees. The only regret we had is that we stayed there only one night. Thank you much Jes and Eileen.
