We had a car so a little difficult to find but once found parking was easy and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant was very good. Would recommend this hotel
The hotel itself was great as well as the restaurant. Unsure how I didn’t know it was connected to a casino before booking but I was caught off guard when it felt like I was checking into the circus casino when it’s the same space as the hotel. Overall, location and everything was good but slightly uncomfortable leaving the hotel. Several sketchy characters lingered in the parking lot when we walked our bikes back and forth from the garage. If I felt more safe at the hotel and its surroundings, I would’ve given it 5 stars.
Overall a very nice stay. I wouldn’t consider this a 4.5 star hotel, but it was nice and comfortable, staff was friendly and room was functional and a decent size. River view room was nice, beautiful view.
The location was excellent, and the rooms were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The staff was courteous and professional throughout my stay. I would like to extend special recognition to Emmanuel from security for his professional handling of a disgruntled guest. He demonstrated understanding, composure, and a high level of professionalism.
What a great surprise both the hotel and the town turned out to be. The hotel is well situated and the staff friendly and the accommodations new and in great shape
Very happy with amenities, location, staff, cleanliness and pretty much everything. The room was exceptional, really quiet and with an exceptional bed! We were able to fully recharge each night with a very good night’s sleep! We enjoyed the river view, the breakfast and also the fitness and wellness area!!!
Absolutely loved our overnight stay. Great check-in, delightful spacious modern rooms, stunning comfortable bed, fabulous walk in shower bathroom, delicious breakfast choices. Super location under citadel, on Meuse river bank, casino access easy for players. A delight.
Our room was nice, no complaints, and we had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. The location of the hotel is right below famous Citadel. The only complaint I have is the parking. There is a parking lot and garage but it is on the other side of the casino which makes checking in and out a bit challenging. There is free parking at the hotel but because it is connected to the casino, all of the casino customers take it up. When we arrived at about 5pm, all the free spaces near the hotel were full and there were very few in the paid lot (25 Euros per night), but when we left in the morning, there was plenty of free parking. I think the free spaces near the hotel should be reserved for hotel guests. There is no handicapped parking at all, and I use a walker for long walks. Other than the parking, the hotel is very nice and I would recommend it.
Stopped for the F1 in Spa. Staff were mint! Were more than happy to call a taxi for us in the mornings as we couldn't communicate with the firm's. Nice area, facilities were mint. Very small gym. Dumbbells only go up to 14kg but there's a duel cable machine. Top notch.
What an amazing experience we had at Mercure Namur! Thanks to Vanessa at reception our stay kicked off with a big smile on our faces. She kindly took care of every request we made and was able to provide us with an upgrade based on our Gold membership. She also helped us with parking advice and information. What can I say she was a total angel! The hotel is very modern and I like the style. Everything is spotless clean. Minibar was free which was a nice touch. Hotel is located by the river and close to the Citadelle. You can hike up to the Castle and I fully recommend stopping by Le Panorama restaurant (it has the most amazing views and good prices).
Convenient and comfortable. However, since I previously extended my reservation for another 2 nights in the same room, staff checked me out and then checked me in for new reservation at 6:30 am. This resulted in my television being turned on … and it woke me up at 6:30 am. Staff didn’t seem very apologetic about doing this. I would expect them to know that TVs get turned on when they check in guests. I wasn’t amused by this error since I wasn’t able to get back to sleep. Handing me a free drink card was insulting.
Once inside the hotel bedroom things were fine; the rooms are clean, modern and comfortable, ours had a lovely view out across the river. Despite initial problems with our booking (a lot of confusion due to a mix up of duplicate surnames) the reception staff were apologetic and all turned out well in the end. However, the hotel lobby also serves as the entrance to the casino, which is rather tacky and crass. Also, although the hotel is only a short (10 minute) walk from the centre, the surroundings (and the hotel itself) seems to be rather run-down, unclean and prone to attracting homeless/drunks. It all felt a little edgy and unsafe, but then again, so did Namur itself, It's a city I longed to return to from my last visit five years ago, and now that I have, sadly I will not be returning in a hurry.
