Staff were outstanding. Atmosphere was lovely. Only quibble was the entrance area to our room was not well lit and there were stone steps, so easy to trip.
This property is beyond charming. It is so beautiful! From the building, the furnishings, the rooms, to the gardens... it was like a hidden garden in the city. The staff was so very kind and easy to work with. The meals were splendid and dining outdoors to candlelight in the evening was pure perfection. I only wish we had stayed longer!
It is a serene property. Rooms are small and comfortable. The rest of the place on the inside had plenty of places to sit and relax. The outside was the same and add the beautiful gardens and swimming pool. The owner and his staff were helpful and charming.
A delightful, secluded hotel in Karen which is conveniently located close to a number of tourist spots such as the Karen Blixen Museum, Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Centre. The staff were thoughtful, personable and respectful of guests and the hotel was extremely accommodating with our request for a late check-out (given the flight time on our final day). The property is nicely appointed and well-maintained. Highly recommend.
This a proper guest house, where you are welcomed by the owner and his excellent staff. The common areas are esthetically pleasing, with carefully curated collections of African art, historical maps, and one of the best Matchbox toy car fleet I have ever seen. There are multiple sitting areas indoors and in the garden area for the guests occupying the eight rooms to enjoy. Rooms are large with all the modern conveniences. Although a relatively new build, it has been purposely finished to resemble an old manor home. The service was excellent. The breakfasts and dinners the best we had on our extended trip. Special thanks to Chefs Patrick and Robin for accomodating my dietary requirements. And Newton and Mumbo's service and advice on wine much appreciated. We a little sheepishly took advantage of the complimentary laundry service as we had just finished an 8 day safari in hot, wet, muddy conditions, but we were so grateful.
A wonderful find outside of the hustle and bustle of the City Centre. I was in Nairobi for 3 days of work and found it a great, quiet base from which to attend meetings, but also to retreat to.
A very comfortable room and great common areas both inside and in the amazing garden.
KG is the perfect place to spend a couple of days whether acclimatizing to Kenya at the beginning of your trip or relaxing at the end after some hectic safari.
It is a small boutique hotel with very friendly and personal service. Steve and William were a great credit - you must definitely try one of Steve's signature cocktails.
The living space was just what was needed after a hectic trip and I highly recommend eating breakfast or dinner on the veranda!
Amazing hidden gem in Karen. The building and grounds are beautiful. The staff were very kind and welcoming. Comfortable room in a stately home. I could only stay one night, so didn't get to relax and enjoy the property as much as I would have liked to.
This quaint and absolutely gorgeous estate with so much character is tucked back off the beaten path in a quiet and peaceful suburb of Nairobi and was the perfect place to spend several days both relaxing and exploring the many points of interest in and around the city. The grounds were immaculate, the staff were more than eager to ensure that every need was attended to, and the owner even made an appearance at one point and was very (authentically) friendly and expressed a genuine interest in getting to know the guests and made you feel right at home. I can't recommend this place enough!
Loved this little gem. Service was attentive, without being intrusive. Charles and Patrick treated us like valued guests. The food was tasty and they offered wine from one of my favorite SA vineyards. A perfect, relaxing, quiet respite. Recommended especially for those stopping over on way to or from safari - about 20 mins from Wilson airport.
What a charming, lovely place! A very well maintained home in the upscale Karen neighborhood of Nairobi. Perfectly located among Karen Blixen museum, Giraffe Center, Sheldrick Elephant Orohange and shops. The staff to guest ratio was almost one to one. When our Uber driver never showed up to take us to dinner, the chef at Karen Gables made us a 3-course dinner which turned out being fantastic! Very nice accommodations, very clean and the staff is great. They even have a driver service to hire if needed which we did for the day and it was perfect. We would definitely stay there again, only longer!
Fantastic stay at Karen Gables this weekend. The service from both host and chef was fantastic and really made our stay incredible. They were very welcoming and accommodating to all our requests. Would look no further if staying in Nairobi again, Thanks!
