The room we were assigned to was in poor condition. The curtains were old and did not fit across the window. The room was not clean. Purchased our own cleaning products and cleaned. The linens were clean, but had a unpleasant odor. The pool tiles need to be scrubbed. Elevators need cleaning. Floors throughout were not clean. We always stayed at Compass Cove, first trip in 15 years. Definitely not what it used to be!

We liked the pools and easy access to the beach area. The room was okay, but dated. The bathroom doorknob was on the floor and the safe did not work. Maintenance was called about both and eventually the doorknob was replaced. The air conditioner was situated so that there was not much air flow directly in the room. It was at an angle facing the wall. The refrigerator was barely working and made loud noises all day and night.

The room was recently renovated and very modern and clean. The check-in needs work. We were told the room would not be ready for an hour and 15 minutes and to take a walk around the property and we would get a call when ready. We walked by the room and joked that oh maybe this is it cause clearly it is ready. We went back after the time we were told and it was still not ready- we did this twice. Checked the phone for calls- none, no emails or text messages, nothing. Finally back at the desk and I sent a message to the company… finally the room is ready… it was the same room we joked about 2 hours prior. Communication with the front desk and rooms being ready needs work. No one wants to spend 2 hours waiting for a room after driving over an hour. Thank you to Sierra for her patience with us and the complimentary breakfast. Also, this room was not exactly what we paid for. The pics and description are deceiving… change it from ocean front to ocean view cause we had to look past the loud bar and the seating area to see the beach. The beach was steps away but at night the adults go in and the teens come out and we could not fully enjoy the sounds of the beach at night from our room. I would stay again but would absolutely NOT book the Schooner room by the outside bar. As far as food, we only ate breakfast there. It was ok. As I said room was newly renovated so it was nice and the beds were comfortable… bathroom a lil small and water pressure was nonexistent.

The hotel rooms were newly renovated but the actual resort wasn’t great. Very run down and an extremely unsafe area! Nothing with walking distance at all. The pools were very dirty and gross by mid morning.

Overall the property was what one would expect of a beach/family resort. The mini-suite was not actually a suite, but two rooms, each containing one full-size bed and a galley/bathroom kitchen configuration in between the two rooms. The full-size bed was very soft and uncomfortable for two adults. I reserved two mini-suites. Upon arrival I was informed that they were on different floors and the management was inflexible in making any attempt to accommodate us ( read Rude). I enjoyed the pool area.

Bed was firm, the bathroom had baby roaches. The room was beside the restaurant on the second floor, very noisy hallways at night with people coming and going. Overall we just had a terrible time. The balcony is usually my highlight of the trip but wasn’t able bc we were on the second floor beside the restaurant so barely got to see the ocean.

I loved staying here and will definitely be back! It was very clean and the room was very big and had a nice little mini kitchen as well! Only thing was parking was a mess ! We had to park in the parking lot on the other side cause we couldn’t find a park on our side but a little stroll never hurt!

I booked the pinnacle deluxe queen suite and got an entirely different room. Called the front desk and Expedia and no one did anything about it. The room was dirty, the dresser drawers were broken, mold on the ceiling, and no pillows or blankets for the pull out bed. The floor was filthy. Would never stay there again.

I did like the property and how attentive the staff was. I also enjoyed the DJ by the pools and the bar. One thing I think would be good is to add a broom and dustpan to each of the rooms for easy sand clean up. Our hotel was very sandy and I didn’t feel it was right to constantly reach out to have someone clean our messes. Other than that it was very nice.

In my opinion there are other comparable properties (price, location, amenity wise) that I would probably choose over compass cove. We decided to stay here because we had stayed at this location about 10 years ago. I remember it being very nice and well kept. This time around the property definitely looked very dated. Pictures shown for the booking are photos of updated rooms on the property. Not all rooms have been updated and the room we were given definitely was not updated as it had a lot of damage to the bathroom and outdated furnishings. With all of this in mind, our stay was still decent for a weekend trip. The staff delivered towels daily and checked in via text. We were able to check in about 30 minutes early and the front desk staff was extremely nice! This property is a short walk to a small market and about .5 mile from a pancake house. Wish it were closer to a few other options. We did try the on-sight coffee shop and it was okay. They have coffee and pastries available for purchase. Overall I would say our stay was okay.
