You can tell mgmt and staff are trying to make improvements, but they still have a long way to go. Our experience started poorly because, as soon as we entered our room, we discovered the toilet wouldn’t flush. The staff promptly came to fix the issue, but I was appalled that he just used a dry rag to wipe up what spilled on the floor in the process (we took a trip to the nearby WalMart for disinfectant wipes immediately)! Our room had recently been painted, and there were paint splatters everywhere- on the bed skirts, hanging artwork, alarm clock, emergency exit signs. Similar to other reviews- there were no toiletries in the bathroom (soap, shampoo, conditioner); the carpet in our room desperately needed a shampoo (it was sticky and discolored in several places); it was a toss-up if your door key was going to work whether it was for your room, the pool area, or the exterior entrances; and overall, there were just big opportunities with cleanliness (we found a Contigo water bottle in our room from the previous occupant, fake fingernails and candy on the floor and under the furniture). The cleanest things in the room were the beds, but I still had my kids sleep on top of the covers and just use the blankets they brought. Definitely not what I expected for the price we paid (avg $274/night).
