Una persona dello staff è stata davvero molto scortese, quando abbiamo chiamato per le indicazioni stradali (il GPS non trovava la via) non riusciva a spiegarsi e ha attaccato il telefono (per ben 2 volte!). Il collega (o responsabile, non so) è stato poi molto gentile offrendoci una camera piu spaziosa allo stesso prezzo e riempiendo il figo di succhi e altro gratuitamente. Stanze vecchie : ci vorrebbe assolutamente una ristrutturazione. Doccia subito all entrata del bagno con scarico sotto il lavandino, risultato: ogni volta che ci si lavava il bagno veniva completamente bagnato e se qualcuno altro voleva entrare subito dopo si bagnata scarpe o piedi (mio figlio di 2 anni tra l altro è scivolato e caduto) colazione: nessuna varietà! pane arabo, pane toast, pane fritto, pane all latte, mini croissant. Poi c erano delle salsiccia piccole e ceci. Marmellata confezionata di bassa qualità. Caffè, non male ma pieno di zucchero quando io non lo avevo chiesto. Posizione: ni

Bad Hotel

I had a not good experience. Stayed with a family, wife and 2 kids the room was not very clean. The breakfast was very poor and most of the staff couldn't speak english. We spent 5 nights and no one single day the staff came to clean our room. There was one only bathroom in a two bedrooms apartment. The hot water in the shower was enough only for one to bath. It was one of the most horrible experience for our family. I really don't recommend this hotel for a family.

Not my cup of tea again for Muscat

The hotel is very nice, could be much nicer if it were closer to the city and the staff were consistent in doing their job, room service, what we are and what we are not entitled to during our stay. Nothing is told to you unless you ask, no housekeeping, no water put into the frige, no a/c in my first room,I had to ask for toilet paper because they never come near the rooms. I finally complained and given a very nice room looking to the sea. My original booking said city view, perhaps long ago, now it's a building next door view. I began to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable and I hate that when I am paying.

Überteuertes Hotel mit vielen Negativpunkten

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht. Das Hotel ist ziemlich überteuert und bietet dafür leider sehr wenig. In unserem erstem Zimmer befanden sich kleine Insekten und Kakerlaken in Bad und Essbereich. Die Zimmernachbarn konnte man jederzeit hören, vorallem wenn Stühle gerückt wurden, hat dies auf den Fliesen einen schrecklichen Lärm verursacht. Die Aufzüge haben bei jeder Bewegung Signale von sich gegeben, diese konnte man bis in die Zimmer und bis tief in die Nacht hinein hören. WLAN auf dem Zimmer funktionierte nur am 1 bzw. 2. Tag danach ging nichts mehr. Deckenlampen und Kühlschrank haben laute Knackgeräusche von sich gegeben. In den 5 Übernachtungen hatten wir keine einzige Nacht normal schlafen können, durch die störenden Umstände. Frühstück war miserabel. Lieblos angerichtet, streng riechend und fast jeden Tag die selbe Auswahl an Speisen. Toastbrot musste zum Toasten über die Theke an die Mitarbeiterin gereicht werden, die dann die Brote in der Hinterkammer toastete. Alles in allem für den Preis von 30 OMR (ca. 75€) pro Übernachtung eine Unverschämtheit was das Frühstück und die Unterkunft betrifft.

Far from city centre

Staff was disorganized, attempted to keep our passports, demanded full payment on check in by cash only, limited hot water for showering (max 10 minutes) before you have to wait for the water to reheat. Better to stay at the best Western across the street.

Nice location but lacklustre hotel

Note this place is NOT on Google maps. The best way to find it is to look for DMAS hotel. It is opposite this. The neighbourhood is surrounded by mideast type shops. Pretty central to all main points to Muscat. Breakfast was basic and staff at hotel polite and pretty reserved. Always willin to help though. It is a fairly basic hotel with spacious rooms. Kitchen smelt and was pretty pointless. There was little natural light and the kids didn't have outdoor activities in the hotel. All in all it is a 2 star max a slighlty poorer version of Premier Inn.. Simple and did the job.

We will never come back to this hotel

Last time that we'll book an unrated hotel. On arrival it was obvious that we wasn't expected. Got a room and went there, layers of dust was covering the surfaces of furnitures and floors but the employee that helped us to our room did not take notice he was more concerned about getting the tv's to work even though I said we did not care. I was more concerned about the covered smoke detectors, the were newly installed and the the cover was not removed, but the employee said that they were fine. I went to reception and after some time they agreed to come and look at the issue. After a while they covers were removed. Not a sorry or neither a thank was expressed. I wonder if the smoke detectors worked at all. We stayed for two nights and after getting back the first day our room wasn't cleaned and towels not changed. My wife went to the reception and asked and they replied: People are normally tired of us coming and cleaning the room, so now we just wait for the guest to come and ask us for cleaning. Could have been nice if we're told on arrival. Must say that it's the first time we've been so disappointed with at description and actuality of a hotel as this one. We'll never come back.

Average, overpriced hotel

Muscat is quite a hard palace to find reasonably priced hotels, while this is cheap (compared to others) it is not very good value. While the rooms are quite big, with comfortable beds and good wifi, it is not in a particularly easy location to see the city unless you have your own vehicle. My room was not cleaned once during my stay, no coffee or tea is provided in room, they charge for drinking water, there were no english language channels on the TV, and the shower flooded the bathroom. There was no tourist information, such as maps etc available from the staff, and there is only limited street parking out the front (despite advertising valet parking). Suggest people send a bit more and try and find a hotel in Mutrah or Qurom.

Spacious apartment in a good location

Spacious, comfortable apartment Pros: -the apartment is spacious -good location, between the airport and the city centre Cons: -really hard to find (the map on this site is wrong) -the receptionist asked for my visa card pin. When I asked why should I give it, he said "come on man, I wont use it". Also he was not friendly, and mostly spoke to other people and ignored me. I would stay here again

Das Personal ist sehr unmotiviert und unfreundlich. Beim Check-In wurden uns überhaupt keine Infos gegeben, und bei der Zahlung bekamen wir keine Quittung (nur Barzahlung möglich). Leider sehr unprofessionell. Das Appartement ist sehr gross, jedoch fühlt man sich darin verloren und unwohl. Putzdienst kommt nicht jeden Tag. Die Klimaanlage macht einen riesen Lärm und funktionniert nur halb. Im ganzen Hotel ist ein unangenehmer Geruch verteilt. Das Frühstückbuffet ist mangelhaft (keine Butter, keine Milch, etc.).

Very clean and modern rooms. Lacks a safety deposit box. However, the internet was unstable and slow. Cleaning housekeeping was unreliable - had to ask three times to get our room done. Don't ask the hotel to arrange a taxi for you as they will overcharge. The breakfast was very minimal (beans, boiled eggs, chopped chicken franks, various chopped veg, bread, donuts/rolls, cereal, juice). But only one coffee per person included in the buffet breakfast. A strong smell of Oud in the lobby and rooms. Kitchen was equipped with appliances but lacking pots and cutlery. Would be great if they would add a washing machine to the facilites (as laundry service is rather expensive in Muscat). Otherwise a very pleasant stay. 6.5 out of 10 (and I'm a harsh marker and quite picky).

Asfar Hotel Apartments - A good value, but...

The two bedroom suite had plenty of space for two people and we enjoyed having a kitchen and an updated bathroom as well. However, there were a few challenges including: a poorly designed drainage system for the shower which meant the bathroom was always flooded with about an inch of water after the first use of the day; there were very few outlets in the apartment available for charging phone/computers, etc.; the room was only cleaned once in the 3 days we stayed (and that was only because we insisted they empty the trash; we could never get more than 2 of three TVs working in the apartment and that only happened after the hotel had to take components from the third satellite system; the address and directions to the hotel are too vague for most taxis to know where it was located. You'll need to make sure to mention that is directly across from the Dmas hotel; while the beds were comfortable, we would have preferred to have both rooms with king beds instead of the one that just had twins; and the last small issue was the fact that the front door would not close quickly or easily. While it was secure when shut, it was annoying having to force the door to close every time you left. Despite these issues, the staff were nice and the hotel is well priced for the area. Please note that if you don't have a car, taxi's and walking are pretty much your only options as public transit is minimal.
