This was a huge surprise. I just wanted somewhere nice to stay in Isa, but the room exceeded expectations. The bed was just awesome - great pillows & comfy doona. The bathroom was also good, but the shower head is way too low (and I'm not that tall). The only other issue was a regular thump/crack every half hour or so which I assume was something with the pipes - annoying but hard to rectify.

Host not very welcoming. Felt like we were interrupting their day, no info re laundry, bbq or pool given. Had to find it out for ourselves and when we went to use the pool they were in it, not welcoming at all, made it feel like it was a private pool, very unusual setup.

The staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. The clean surrounds and pool were a life saver in the heat. It was such a welcome surprise to find friendly staff and good facilities, having stayed in some of the nearby hotels previously. Many hotels in the area feel unsafe, are a hang-out for drunks and undesirables and have poorly maintained facilities, yet here is a true oasis in the desert at a very good price. An absolute pleasure.

Overall the motel was okay, but there were some issues such as the room having a leaking tap. Request a downstairs room but none were available which is understandable.

Difficult checking in as reception unmanned

Reception unmanned during checkin time and buzzer not working. Waited 10 minutes after having to call. Fortunately room was clean, comfortable, spacious, well equipped and good value. Unfortunately people wandering around car park outside unit during the night, so didn’t feel secure.

When we arrived at the motel after driving 600 km, the manager claimed there was no record of our booking. We had booked in Feb and received confirmation from Expedia. We then had to find alternate accommodation with next-to-no assistance from the motel, and there was no accommodation in Mt Isa at such late notice. We were then forced to find accommodation 120km away and had to drive to and from Mt Isa each day to attend previously-booked activities.

Comfortable bed. I was supplied a heater for the chilly weather which was nice. Wi-fi failed at times. In fact it got so bad at times I had to abandon it, and the motel wasn’t full. Enough bench space. I used the second towel as a bathmat, as I didn’t trust the fluffy mat supplied had been laundered between guests. It might well have, but it’s better to supply laundered towelling mats. This motel is in easy walking distance to a large supermarket, which makes it a very convenient place to stay.
