「Very large, clean and comfortable room. Staff were outgoing and attentive to any of our needs. I was hoping for a more authentic castle experience, but furnishings were basic and a bit worn out. The restaurant service was slow due to under-staffing, but the staff were all friendly and engaging and the food was good. Overall, a comfortable stay, but don't expect much of an experience.」

「It is a wonderful, small hotel! Clean, comfortable, updated rooms with everything you need. Breakfast is included, providing lots of choices, and it is very, very good. It is on the main road, so easy to get to by bus or car and has parking if you need it. June, the owner, is very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Plus she has an awesome sense of humour! I enjoyed my stay very much and I would highly recommend it!」

「Had a very comfortable stay at Smiddy Haugh. Very clean and comfortable room with nice toiletries in bathroom. Owners were very welcoming and made us aware of all relevant information, I.e. heating, dining, check out, car parking. We had a delicious breakfast and would certainly recommend and visit again.」

「Room was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful. The food in the restaurant was lovely. What wasn't good was the racket from other resident drinking and socialising outside the hotel beneath our room . It was noisy till very late on Thursday evening and worse on Friday evening/Saturday morning when the disturbance continued beyound 12.30am. When we stay there again, and we will, we shall be making sure our room is in a quieter part of the hotel.」

「The Station House was in many ways ideal. The room was roomy and well furnished, the access to the extra communal room where we could sit and make tea and coffee and keep fresh milk and food in a fridge was excellent. Two small things let it down. The reception was across the road in the associated hotel. Once in the hotel the notice said the reception was upstairs but there was no obvious reception desk up there. I looked around and went in to the bar and no one was behind the bar. It turned...

「Great pre-arrival service with emails sharing possible local sites and places to eat. Then, such a warm welcome on arrival. Great room and we had wonderful views down into Perth. Perth was within easy walking distance. The lounge with the wood burning fire in the evening was cozy and a great environment to enjoy a wee dram. Great breakfast.」
