Nice friendly place. Lovely food. My husband has the chicken burger and I had the chicken schnitzel. We should have had the small breakfast as the traditional one was huge.

The hotel is an Inn and it is clean with a lot of unusual features, hidden corners. The staff were all friendly and the beer was always cold and reasonably priced

Great welcome easy check in and friendly team 😁. We arrived late after a long drive - the venue is an old pub with rooms. We navigated our way to the top floor room. As we arrived Halloween weekend we thought the dust and cobwebs in the room were part of the theme. 👻 The carpet around the bed and doors hadn’t been hoovered for months. A layer of dust was on all the light fittings and cobwebs everywhere - bed and pillows weren’t great and we could hear the noise from the high street, boy racers and the street cleaners and market stall from 4 am. All the corridors needed hoovering and complete dusting, no amount of plug in air fresheners were going disguise the dirt. bathroom was ok, mould around bath seals, stains in toilet. Limescale all over the shower head - shelf above the sink which meant you couldnt wash you face or brush your teeth over the sink properly, door handle really low. I get it’s an old building and a lots quirky character - that would have been its charm. But the rooms and upstairs part of the pub are dated and need a deep clean everywhere. The breakfast was good quality albeit a little greasy, but filled our bellies and a good pot of tea. 😁. Would I stay here again. Definitely not - even though it was a great location at top end of Monmouth town centre.

Helpful, competent staff. Room fine, although inevitably hot in the weather pertaining. They DID leave me a good fan and the window was wide open when I got in. Bath/shower had good handles and non-slip surface (unlike some much more expensive places). B&B rate included an ENORMOUS breakfast. I opted for the “small” breakfast. Was good enough for anyone but a lumberjack. Location very central. Parking close by (once you figure out the back alleyways).
