Disappointing

We were rather disappointed, the images from the website was obviously taken when the establishment first opened which was MANY years ago & it has deteriorated much since then e.g the Lapa on the water, we thought we would spend our new years there fishing, but there were no floor planks.The bedding in the room had stains on it, the roof was leaking so the one single bed was soaking.We love animals, but there was a huge dog & cat that were jumping on the table where were had a braai after having to thoroughly clean & burn whatever was left on from previous braai. No one introduced us to the animals, yes they were friendly but anything could of happened especially when it comes to food... The road, there is no road, it was so bad, we were lucky we arrived in a bakkie... The shower drain was obviously blocked, one of our friends tried to have a shower which ended up a leg soak as the water wasn't draining... The rest of us decided to wait until we got back to the comfort & cleanliness of our own home. We asked for keys for the room, as there is a front & back door as there were other guests on the property & unfortunately this is South Africa, he told us that we are near the border and the police drive up and down every now & again, I was rather irritated as that is not what we asked for & he never gave us keys, thankfully there was a set just hanging in the door parallel to our room & I tried them & those worked but meaning all keys open all doors. Not worth the price

The resort is on a farm 30km from Piet Retief. The road is not pleasant. The accommodation is pleasant enough and if we stayed longer we may have used some of the amenities. The farm is a monkey rehabilitation center

do not trust the photos - we didn't stay there

Everything is a bit dull, starting with the crumbling lanterns at the entrance. We can't drive directly to the room, because the way was impassable for an normal verhicle. In front of the apartment some people tried to move an old lorry or something else. From the terrace you have only a look on an rusty shack. The rooms themselves smelled like a shed and are not very comfortable furnished. The bathrooms are in need of renovation, one of them had no light. The location where we should take the Braai was a backyard where the lawn needs a cut and with an rusty rim as an fireplace. I couldn't image, how we could have an nice Braai at this place in the dark. In summary my wife an i decided not to stay at your accomodation. We traveled 12 days trough your beautiful country but this was the worst accomodation we had ever seen. I describe all these things, because i feel a little cheated. The situation that offered us on site was completely different from the pictures of your accomodation.

We zijn opeen hele leuke, warme manier ontvangen door Elsie. Het is een superleuke plek. De kinderen gebben genoten van alle dieren die er waren. Apen weeshuis. Het ontbijt asn het water is fantastisch en ook het avondeten was heel lekker. Van de braai.

Hele aardige mensen en ze maken heerlijke braai!

Wij werden heel hartelijk ontvangen. S avonds hebben ze een heerlijke braai voor ons gemaakt. Je hebt hele mooie plekjes op het terrein en zo kun je ontbijten aan het water. Iedere kamer heeft ook eigen braai faciliteiten. Wij vonden de honden ook heel erg gezellig! Het enige grote verbeterpunt is de weg er naar toe. Maarliefst 20 km moet je over een hele slechte weg, met heel veel grote gaten in de weg.

Zufahrtsweg zur Gastfarm ein wenig beschwerlich, dafür wurden wir von der Gastgeberin sehr herzlich empfangen. Sehr schöne Farm mit vielen verschiedenen Tieren die auch sehr zahm sind. Für Tierliebhaber absolut empfehlenswert. Sehr reichhaltiges Frühstück und Dinner.

Une belle découverte en pleine nature

Très agréable endroit bien planqué sur une petite départementale à 3O kms de Piet Retief;Accueil chaleureux des propriétaires communiquant facilement sur leur passion pour ce lieu bordant le Swaziland ,sur les animaux qu'ils élèvent également en dehors de ceux de la ferme tels que singes,autruches et paons ,et la secrète envie de pouvoir un jour faire découvrir à leurs hôtes ,le Swaziland en Mongolfière!!!Vraiment un très bel endroit où nous repasserions volontiers 2 à 3 jours

Idyllische Anlage in wünderschöner Landschaft

Sehr freundliche Begrüßung bei der Ankunft. Unkomplizierter und schneller Check-in Prozess. Alle Leistungen wie gebucht vorgefunden. Darüber hinaus eine sehr freundliche Atmosphäre. Die Inhaber waren jederzeit darauf bedacht unsere Wünsche zu erfüllen.

Comfortable, relaxing and peaceful stay!

Its was a very relaxing and peaceful stay. Very friendly owner, who makes you feel at home. We also had a great breakfast on the wooden deck at the dam which was great. I recommend this farm to all, for a comfortable stay, will return there!

Excellente étape à la campagne

Nous avons passé la dernière nuit de nos vacances en Afrique du Sud à la campagne à Emahlathini Guest Farm. Nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement par Elsie. Les chambres décorées avec goût, la literie excellente, des jeux sont disponibles pour les enfants. La vue est magnifique et le petit déjeuner plus que copieux.

Die neu gestalteten Zimmer waren leider recht dunkel, da es nur an der Eingangsseite Fenster gibt. Die Gastgeber waren sehr sehr freundlich und bemüht, das mehr als reichliche Essen wurde ans Zimmer gebracht.

Cozy Modern Room Close to Swaziland Border

We werent sure what to expect but we were thrilled with this guest farm. The owners and their dogs were all very friendly and accommodating. The wifi worked well in the room. Our room was large with a well equipped kitchen, fresh milk and a large shower. The breakfast served right to our room first thing in the morning was amazing with plenty of selection and quantity. This is the perfect place to stay if travelling to Swaziland.
