The Red Lion in my town is a fairly nice hotel, so I thought I was getting a deal... But this particular location is just a bargain motel that maybe recently got a fresh coat of paint and new furniture. The door was stuck, the room had a really harsh cleaner/chemical smell, and the shower looked sketchy enough that I didn't use it. The A/C window unit was falling apart and the blinds didn't fully close. It was a place to sleep for the night but it did nothing to help the Red Lion name.

The room I stayed in was kind falling apart. The drapes barely closed, which means people could see in your room, which someone did, and laughed at us chilling in our room. It was unnerving. Not to mention the doors are difficult to open. The beds were very hard/firm. I wouldn’t stay again. I only did because it was cheap for a one night stay. But I’ll definitely spend the extra $30 or more a night to stay elsewhere next time, especially with kids.

We won’t be coming back. No shampoo or soap in rooms. Requested non smoking rooms and got one smoking. The attendant said she wasn’t allowed to change the room until the other person came on duty. Had to wait until about 10 pm.

The staff was very friendly. I want to be clear about that. However the MOTEL was not what I’ve come to expect from staying at Red Lion properties. Our keys stopped working several times. (And no, we didn’t keep them next to our cell phones. Staff said the cards had no charge? Whatever that means) so we were locked out of our rooms several times. One of our two rooms didn’t even have a curtain on the shower stall. It was pretty rundown in general. I honestly feel like I shouldn’t have had to pay full price.

I will start with the positive(s) -the staff was very friendly negatives -the room was kinda stinky -most of the lamps did not work -most of the outlets did not work -the bathroom doesn’t have a fan -the pillows are very tiny -the doors and frames are all very dirty -the sinks were dirty -the window curtain rod was on the verge of breaking the whole time

The staff was extremely nice and helpful and we had no complaints about them. However, the room was very dirty and we were traveling with an emotional support rescue cat to deliver to his new family in Canada and he went under the bed and when I looked under the bed to see what he was up to....it was filthy. This was just minutes after checking into our room. So I got the cat out from under the bed and put him into the bathroom and I went to the front desk to ask for a broom and dust pan so I could clean under the beds and couch. I moved the beds and couch to sweep up the garbage, dust and I found pills and drugs in little plastic bags under the bed and couch. I took the bag of waste back to the front desk clerks and gave it to them to show them that we found pills and drugs in little bags (and to show them the amount of garbage/dust under the beds and couch). The front desk clerk apologized and said the cleaning crew is suppose to sweep. Why I am so upset about this is that if the rescue cat would have consumed any of those pills or drugs (or any animal or child for that matter), it could have killed him and/or resulted in an emergency situation. I had low expectations for cleanliness given they accepted cats; which many hotels would not accept cats (only dogs for some reason), but the fact that there were pills on the floor (and bags with drugs inside) that he could have eaten was very upsetting to say the least. The property needs to do a better job cleaning the rooms.

When we arrived, the room was dirty. There were muddy footprints in the room, the toilet was clogged, and there was poop in it. We were disgusted and immediately left.

The toilet hadn’t been cleaned properly because there was an orange colored ring in the toilet bowl. The 2 lamps attached to the headboard were coated in thick dust. I have breathing issues and I had an asthma attack during the night. Also, the safety latch on the door fell off in my hand while I was locking the door! I reported these issue to the front desk and they had maintenance fix the lock the following day, but I didn’t feel very safe that night! I feel that the hotel should’ve reimbursed me for at least one of my 3 nights.

AVOID. We had three rooms. Years of grime, stained and dirty chair and bed skirt. Leaks in crawling, shoddy repairs, clogged sinks, dirty, dirty, dirty! One door didn’t lock one looked liked it was kicked in . Homeless shelter within sight, people walking around from or to there day and night. Only positive is the staff. We’ve stayed at Red Lions for years, they should be ashamed to have their name on this one. Rooms in total disrepair. NOT recommended , for the price there are many other options !

Parking was great! I thought online it said they have a complimentary breakfast including hot items such as eggs and meats but it is only friut, yogurt and breads. It is very quiet in the room which i greatly appreciated.
