Stayed here before. Lovely character inn, friendly service, comfortable beds, beautiful quiet village and convenient for Dunster and Exmoor. Brought our US visitors this time and they loved it.
Superb restaurant food for dinner in this delightful village compensates for the rather mediocre room in this ancient inn.
However the latter is reflected in the very modes room price and staying here is worthwhile for the dining experience alone.
The staff are all very pleasant and helpful
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were all kind and helpful. Locals very friendly as were the other residents. Great choice of food on the menu and superbly cooked. A lovely quiet break. No complaints at
Had a great stay - lovely pub and room - character filled and in a lovely location. Great staff - very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely come back
We really enjoyed our two nights in this lovely traditional thatched inn set in pretty peaceful surroundings. Excellent local ales and very good food. Staff were friendly and eager to help. Great spot from which to visit Dunster, Minehead etc and for walking on Exmoor. We hope to return.
An enjoyable stay. We were welcomed by Jane on arrival and shown to our room which was very comfortable. Despite staff shortages every effort was made to ensure all guests were happy and comfortable.
The food was excellent and well priced.
Extremely well run. Spotlessly clean. Lovely food. Staff who go that extra mile. Excellent location. Pretty thatched cottage village with ford and tea shop and plenty to do in surrounding areas. You will definitely want to re visit.
Absolutely fantastic stay. Fantastic location. The staff could not do enough for you. The owner Jane deserves a special mention. Very hard working and sooooo helpful.
I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE ROYAL OAK.
Had a very nice stay for a weekend the premises are full of character, clean and very comfortable, staff were very nice and the food was hot and tasty, all in all a very nice stay .
Lovely 2-night B&B stay in a twin room which was clean and comfortable and a good size, with a large bathroom with a powerful over bath shower. Good night's sleep both nights as the village is very quiet. Ideal base for exploring Exmoor. Food was very good at breakfast(pre-ordered the night before) and at dinner. Friendly staff. Good Covid measures in place.
