I've been living (and travelling) in Japan for three years and have NEVER had such great accommodation!!! The cabins are super equipped - each with its own little onsen. The food is just fantastic and the staff are really accommodating and friendly. We would go there again at any time and would recommend the accommodation to anyone.

The entrance of the hotel might be a little difficult to people who drive to there because the entrance lane is really narrow and small. If you drive there, do not arrive before sunset or it's totally dark during the lane. Guest rooms are pet friendly therefore it might remain some smells of pets (for people who dislike animals), you should consider it carefully or you might be uncomfortable all the night even though it smells not too strong. Dinner and breakfast are great, the buffet is offered both breakfast and dinner, you could enjoy meals here. But after you checked in, it's really impossible to go outside of the hotel because the entrance is difficult to pass. All the rooms are with 2 onsens, one is indoor another is outdoor, they are really awesome. In conclusion, I would recommend you to stay here if you love pets and enjoy onsen, otherwise you might have a better choice.

接待親切、乾淨舒適，但小木屋內暖氣有點不夠暖。附近沒什麼吃的，要開車到黑川或小國町才有熱鬧的區域。一泊二食的經驗很好，幾乎每一樣食物都能感受到用心之處，十二萬分推薦！

自駕遊的，地點的確難找，gps帶到去一處很偏遠的地方，還好問當地一位居民駕車帶我們到酒店。整體不錯，一泊兩食，早、晚餐非常豐富。

Recommendation if you want to experience

I recommend this ryokan if you find a modern style one near a very traditional onsen. The ryokan, consisting of separate individual cabins, offers a very calm, private time for you and your family. The interior is good (I guess an (amateur) artist did some for the interior pieces). Also, the menu served for breakfasts and dinners are good. (It can be a little bit salty for foreigners who are not familiar with Japanese foods) One thing you have to know is that this ryokan is a little bit far from the onset center. Please prepare simple Japanese expressions if you cannot speak Japanese and don't rent a car.

산속산장느낌에 침실도 깔끔하니 좋았습니다~하지만 일단 주소가 호텔닷컴에는 구로카와 온천마을 정중간이라고 적혀있는데 완전 엉터리입니다!! 동네도 다르고 깊은 산골에 혼자 덩그라니 있습니다!! 또 주방에 강아지가왔다 갔다 해서 애견을 키우지 않는 사람입장에는 아무래도 비위생적으로 보입니다! 호텔이 산속에 있어 나오고 들어간다고 하루다보냈네요~ 관광 생각하시는분들께는 비추합니다! 요양식으로 조용히 갔다 오실분은 한번쯤 가보시길::

Nice place to stay, just relax and enjoy

Such a nice and silent place to stay for holiday, the staff are so nice and the dinner is wonderful. Don't expect this is a five star hotel, because it is totally different thing. It is easy to find by using gps, and suggest you should drive to there. I was having wonderful time there, and they have perfume and facial mask in the washroom, it is really nice and care heart . I will come back again next time

Location on hotels.com is inaccurate. This hotel is actually located in nearby forest , which is at least 1 km from any major road junctions. Virtually impossible for foreign tourists traveling on public transport to find. Excellent privacy and hot springs. Food was nicely prepared. Great place to stay for those looking for a quiet, undisturbed holiday.
