"Convenient location and lovely staff. Could do with much more fruit options at breakfast and a more varied restaurant menu. Comfortable bed and great parking. Bar staff were lovely."
"We had the family room for 3 adults. Room 211. Lovely room extra large king size bed, separate room with bunk beds. Really comfy. View over car park but didn't matter as we were out all day. The hotel has been refurbished since we last went so very modern in the bar / restaurant now.
Views of the sea immediately as you go out the front of the hotel. 5 minute walk to the beach.
You can use the hotel car park, at the rear of the hotel, which is £8 for 24 hours, from 11am on the day you arrive to 11am the next day. The reception give you a voucher which you use to scan into the pay machine when you leave. Helpful to know as hard to find places to park when busy.
Love Whitby, we will be back 🙂"
"Hotel Indigo Durham – Stay 30th September & 1st October 2026
My friend and I stayed at Hotel Indigo Durham for two nights. The hotel is in an excellent location, with many of Durham’s sights and attractions within easy walking distance.
I requested a quiet room and we were very pleased with the room we received. It was lovely and quiet, very comfortable, and the beds were extremely comfortable, giving us both a great night’s sleep. The bathroom was stunning, with a large shower which was a real pleasure to use.
One of the highlights was the beautiful dining room. It is a stunning space and, in my opinion, worth staying at the hotel just to experience it. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked, served hot and made with good-quality ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
We travelled from the train station to the hotel by Uber, which cost around £7 and was very convenient with our luggage.
During our stay, we visited Durham Cathedral, which was beautiful and definitely worth seeing. Entry is free, although a £5 donation is requested. We were very happy to make a donation. The cathedral has also been used as a filming location for some of the Harry Potter films.
We also enjoyed meals at 19Twenty Bar & Grill and Turkish Kitchen Meze & Grill, both of which were lovely.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The excellent location, quiet and comfortable room, stunning bathroom, beautiful dining room and excellent breakfast made our visit very enjoyable. We would happily stay aga"
"Very pleased with our choice - good large clean room with useful facilities. Friendly and helpful staff, Good choice for breakfast both english and continental. A great find and wish we had discovered it on earlier visits."
Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough - Centre Square by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Room was clean and comfortable with a large walk-in shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a reasonable choice of items for breakfast including cereal, yoghourt, juice and some hot options. There was ample parking at the back of the hotel in the Cleveland Centre car park at a very impressive charge of £6.00 per day."
"On arrival staff we excellent and even showed us to the room. The twin room was small but had everything that was needed. The breakfast was included and was sufficient. Free parking and only a 5 min uber into town."
