  • Young Red Colobus Monkey. Day trips to Jozani are very straight forward. In Stone Town, tours can be booked at the old fort. November is storm season, but it is also Spring here, so there are lots of young creatures around. You have to take a local guide from the Forest information centre and you get walked through the forest. This is not a bad thing, as there are a load of side paths and no signage, so I think getting lost would be pretty straight forward. The other good thing about a network of guides on the ground, is that they find the monkeys easily, meaning you get to spend more time with them, rather than looking for them.

Wir waren 10 Tage im KonoKonoresort und haben uns sehr gut gehen lassen. Die Zimmer wurden 3 mal täglich gesäubert und die Anlage ist auch immer sauber. Der Pool ist sehr angenehm und man hat einen eigenen Zugang zum Strand. Das Essen war immer Lecker und sehr hochwertig. Wenn man Mittats Hunger hatte konnte man sich immer wieder was bestellen aber zu einem sehr stolzen Preis. (Spagetti mit Tomatensoße ca. 20$) Wir empfehlen wenn man in die Stadt fährt(Paje,Stone town) sich Snacks oder Getränke zu kaufen falls man zwischendurch Hunger hat. Im Zimmer sind mosquitonetze also ist man auch nachts geschützt. Wenn andere Tiere in den Zimmern waren, konnte man bei der Rezeption anrufen und dann kam jemand und hat die enfernt. Dienstag und Samstag gibt es Shows und da ist dann auch immer Buffet. An den anderen Tagen ist es A la carte.

Das Zimmer war schön und sehr geräumig. Der eigene Pool ist insbesondere für Kinder super. Es macht Spaß die Affen beim zu beobachten, während man in der Sonne liegt. Es wirkt alles etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber hat einen schönen Charme. Alles in allem ist die haue Anlage sehr ruhig. Das gilt auch für das Personal. Alle sehr freundlich und relaxt. Die Preise an der Bar waren definitiv zu hoch. Ein Bier kostet 7,5$. Cocktails mehr als 10$. Der Strand ist ebenfalls ruhig und schön, aber fast schon zu einsam. Das Abendessen sowie das Frühstück waren immer top. Abends sowohl von der Karte als auch am Buffet, hat man abwechslungsreiche Mahlzeiten erhalten. Man kann im Konokono eine erholsame und schöne Zeit erleben. Wir waren eine Woche dort. Wenn man keine Ausflüge plant, reichen auch 3-5 Tage. Die Ausflüge, die vom Hotel aus gebucht werden können, stehen in einem guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Empfehlenswert!

This hotel was BEAUTIFUL! The pictures do not do it any justice. We stayed at the overwater villas for one night and the service was exceptional. The food was good. They brought a floating breakfast that was delicious. Even the regular villas were really nice. Also “the rock”restaurant was 15 mins away.

Great place. Quiet and well kept. We really enjoyed our week there. Stayed both at the Over Water Villas and at the resort - both of which are recommended. The Over Water Villas are of course extra, but a great experience throughout.

This resort is the closest I've been to a natural paradise. My stay was incredible in every possible way. The Isaraya overwater bungalows are beautifully decorated and you feel like you're living in your own personal paradise looking out onto the ocean, your private pool, and the fishermen who pass by. The food was amazing with lots of different choices of local dishes including fresh fish and fruits daily. The best part of all was the staff. They were so helpful, especially when you try to speak a few words in swahili, and will do all they can to serve you, even dinner on the beach, on request. Beatrice, the hospitality manager, was absolutely incredible and the kindness of the whole team will make your trip exceptional. It is very quiet there, day and night, which is what I was seeking, but no night life except a couple of evenings where there was music, so if you're wanting fun, I'd go elsewhere or you'll need to book a taxi every day. It is about 90 minutes from Stone Town or the spice farm, so most visits will be a full day trip due to the roads. Some people complain about the Maasai, but they guard the property. They made me feel safe, and they are lovely to chat to. Of course they'll try to sell you something, but just be polite, laugh with them, and negotiate, you'll be so glad you did because it'll add to your memories. I personally had an unforgettable stay and I can't wait to go back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Isayara luxury over water villa and konokono beach resort garden villa. The staff is very kind and available whenever you need them. We felt very welcomed and care for. The place is juste amazing and calm. We stayed in a garden villa for 3 nights and in an overwater villa for another 3 nights due to availability of the overwater villa when we booked. We loved both villas. The garden villa was so spacious and clean. The pool in the garden was very nice. We really enjoyed the daily visit of the monkey’s there. But of course the highlight of our stay was the overwater villa. WOW. The view everywhere in the villa. We spent most our day in our own little pool or the ocean on high tides. It was just a perfect relaxing moment. Room service was so efficient, we just had to call in to get some drink delivered. We really loved our stay at this property. It’s a fair drive from main attractions, but we didn't mind it as we booked our tours with hotel pickups. The hotel is worth the drive.

Jambo… It was following a safari trip and we stayed a week to unwind and relax!!! The place, specifically the beach, was like paradise… Catered to couples and newlyweds… But even though I was there with a friend, I would definitely go back for some R&R!!! However, the service was slow, the waiters didn’t speak that well English, we didn’t have hot water the last 3 nights of our trip… And even though they sent maintenance every day, the problem never got resolved… And the bathroom leaked as well but luckily we had 2 in our apartment and we were able to use the other one!!! The food was delicious and the drinks too!!! Even though we encountered these issues, we’d go back in a heartbeat!!! Asante sana…

Amazing water villas but poor renovation general

During my stay i was hosted in 3 different accommodations in the hotel. Water villa was absolutely awesome 5 stars . But other rooms with very poor maintenance lots of things were broken. Bad towels vwry used and old totally different from the high quality of the villa. It looks like they are not renovating the instalations.. ..service was amazing and food evru good. The road to the hotel was terrible ...very very bumpy and fsr from the airport. 1 hour and 40 minutes . Drinks in the bar extremely expensive. 16 dolars a margarita...

Lovely beach, pool and view from restaurant. Spacious villas but a shame there’s no TV. Staff are attentive and accommodating. Enjoyed our stay immensely.
