I loved my stay at the jail. It is so beautifully done and just a really cool place! Love the history here and artifacts as well! It’s one of my favorite places to stay in western NC!

The Sheriff’s suite was so lovely. It has a riverfront view with a beautiful deck to lounge on. The restaurant below m, Zadie’s was fantastic and Marshall is sooooo cute!

Room was large and well cleaned, it came with a sticked kitchenette. The hotel has a nice restaurant in site with outdoor seating overlooking the French Broad River. The hotel was like a museum for the original jail with information on display. The room we stayed in had several original features of the old jail.

Best night in jail I’ve ever spent. Not why everyone is scared of jail showers but this one was way better than I expected based on things I’ve heard. Seriously though, top-notch job done on this reno. Really unique cool place. Highly recommend!

We stayed overnight and had a nice stay. There was an upstairs deck where you could watch the river. Check in was easy, property owners/managers were super fast to respond when we asked a question. A lot of memorabilia from when it was a jail is throughout the hotel. There were even books on local history in our room! Cute place to stay, you can’t go wrong!

Unique boutique rooms. We've stayed here before and each of the rooms has its own personality. Marshall is still recovering from the storm, but it surprisingly is making a quick come back.

A gem!

Such a lovely hotel in lovely Marshall! Really comfy bed and spacious suite (we stayed in the Sheriff’s suite), we wished we were staying for longer. The restaurant downstairs was also fab and had a great selection of both alcoholic and non alcoholic beers etc. which was great to see.

Wines and food were available on the property. Check-in was electronic with codes provided for public doors and room door. Well maintained rooms offered a refrigerator and small appliance like coffee maker and teapot as well as china, glassware and silverware. Soft bed and table and chairs rounded out the furnishings.

This is a truly unique hotel. It was beautifully, renovated, spacious, super clean, and very convenient for exploring Marshall. The restaurant was good, and it was very relaxing sitting on the deck and listening to the river. The unit was nicely equipped. The only difficulty we had was getting a hold of anyone for questions when we arrived. The phone number in the binder did not answer our call nor reply to text message. I did see a very helpful employee cleaning the next day who answered our questions.

This place was great. Everything about it is unique and super cool. My 2 teens loved staying up in the loft area. This was a great weekend getaway and the old Marshall jail hotel made it even better. P.S. it’s not haunted lol

Located in a quaint, tiny mountain town that is fighting back after being decimated by last year’s hurricane, Old Marshall Jail Hotel is a hidden gem. Despite the downstairs, including the currently closed restaurant, being under major reconstruction, the second floor and our room was perfect. Combining rustic, old world charm and history with modern design elements, the river view room was incredible. The owner’s own pottery was a highlight. Can’t wait to return for a longer stay when the hotel is fully rebuilt.

Unique property created out of a former county jail. Good bar & eatery downstairs, river side dinng adds to the ambience. Only issue I have is the lack of communication when checking out, we had no idea if we checked out properly!
