The pictures look AI generated compared to the property amenities. There were no paddle boats, no boats, $20 fee per person to use indoor pool?? Restaurants are at least 4 miles from the cabin not a two minute walk. Clubhouse was booked for a private event. They lost my reservation or could not find it, disappointed overall there was no mention that there would be no paddle boats and a huge charge to use the indoor pool. It also said the restaurants were 2 minute walk. That is a definitely false. Pros: the cabins were extremely clean.

Very convenient for Gibbs Gardens. Great grocery store and local restaurants. Lovely setting for villa, I would have liked more time there. Villa are old but clean inside and bed was comfortable. If you arrive after hours, drive behind the bank building and you will find the box with your key package, call the number on box to get the padlock code. I missed it the first time.

Gold Club Villas is an older property, but it was priced very well for what you get. Everything was is working order, clean and comfortable. I knew from other reviews that the decor was dated, but my kids actually loved it. They said it was like visiting grandma’s house. The property around the villas is AMAZING!! We enjoyed just driving around and taking in the scenery. The amenities are spread out, but it made it fun to “explore “ and find new things to do. We are already planning our return trip for October.

Stressful check-in

Hotels.com did not share our reservation with the office. I tried calling the resort several hours before check-in, continuously ringing with no answer. Drove to the address listed, but no one was there to speak to, even though it was within office hours. Ran into someone who worked in the adjoining bank to get through to the manager. Blanche was very kind and helpful! Keys are to be picked up in a box on backside of building, but since they did not have our information, we didn't have an email with code to pick up keys. It is also difficult when the only number listed for contact info has no one answering. Once everything was figured out, check-in was good. We were only allowed one parking pass for 2 cars, which made driving through the gate a little tricky. According to the pamphlet given at check-in, there is a cost to use all the amenities (e.g., $20/day for the pool). The smoke detector continuously beeped due to a low battery, and there was no internet connection, so we were unable to use the fire stick to watch TV.

The stay was terrible and I want a full refund. There were ants in our bed severe stains on the cushions of the furniture. The unit was left unlocked including after maintenance came in to make repairs leaving our personal property unsecured!! Many many other damaged areas of the unit.

The check-in instructions were not clear in that the keys were located at a separate location and no phone number was provided online for assistance. The property was not very clean: the kitchen counter had rings and residue and there was hair left in the hair dryer. Roku/Amazon fire stick was advertised for the television but this was only available in the main bedroom, not the family room.

Property was nice, linda waa great. A few things that needed to be addressed, the mold on the shower curtain, the spider webs on the inside light fixtures, and the thick spider webs on the hand railing coming into the villa and on the back porches. I know it is in the mountins, but there is a difference between new and been there a while spider webs.

The villa was dirty and we had problems getting access to the cabin. Villa smells like your me-maws...moldy with the added smell of pet urine. The villa needs to be renovated but I was okay with that...the issue was the smell, moldy shower heads we had to clean before using, nasty coffee pot, peeling wall paper, dirty TV, not all lights worked, furniture was shot, carpets were torn and dirty, dirty outside furniture, etc. Just not a pleasant stay--the owners need to really ensure their units are kept squeaky clean it they are not up to renovating. And we had to call a number for a pad lock drop box behind a bank two miles from the resort. They would not answer the phone (July 4th issue apparently) and had to drive up to the resort to help us with contacting the villa manager so we could get the lock combination. Had to drive back down to the lock box, retrieve keys, and drive back up. They should send an email with the combo and better instructions if they cannot stage everything with the resort.

Dirty and smelly

received Villa x which smells strongly of urine and is generally stinky. Furthermore, we have already encountered three giant cockroaches and have photographic evidence. In addition, the "villa" is dirty. The furniture is old, stinky, and dirty, and the windows are also very dirty. Basically, everything is stinky, smelly, and dirty. This is not what was advertised, and as a result, we will be leaving and canceling our reservation. You are free to rent the villa to someone else. We are definitely demanding an immediate refund.
