Gulf View does indeed have a view of the Gulf, from public areas, but there's hardly any shade on the shore or at the pool to escape the full sun at either. Our room was clean and comfortable but it was like a bachelor uncle room above the garage. The approach ramp and adjacent deck were very worn, with springy boards and protruding nails. At check-in, we were left waiting several minutes after ringing the bell then being told to wait some more, while she carried on personal conversations leaving us waiting, only to be processed coldly (same with check-out). Shower and on-site parking were fine. The only ice option was purchasing a $3 bag (and another long rude wait) that far exceeded what we wanted or needed. Gulf View should have been a more enjoyable experience than it was. It was clean and relatively quiet (couldn't hear nearby highway traffic when indoors), but we wouldn't stay there again.

This place is a scam. The website and pictures are false advertising. The room was not just dirty, but smelled moldy. We were so disgusted we could not even stay there, we forfeited our money and left.

Pretty spot and very clean but they need more comfy chairs out by the water and grounds. Also if we had access to ice after 6:00 pm that would be nice or just ice trays in the fridge would be great! All in all a great quiet and safe place to stay!

Great location on the water. Property could be better maintained. Some windows are very old, our 1 panel glass window rattled all night long from the wind and we could hear everything happening outside. Walls are thin as well, so plan on hearing your neighbors. It was fine for 1 night but I wouldn’t return.

The good parts: staff were friendly and accommodating. The room and pool were clean. There is a great bar/restaurant within walking distance away. It was nice to have a full size fridge and stove to use if needed. They also have kayaks and paddle boards to use at no charge. But, beware…it is difficult to get BACK up the kayak launcher as there is no handle and the concrete pad is very slippery. The not so good parts: The pictures are a little deceiving. The room we booked (deluxe king) showed a pic that looked like it looks out onto the ocean. Ours did not. It was on the ground floor and the side of the bed is RIGHT next to the kitchen sink. You can hear EVERYTHING from your neighbors (even just casual conversation). There was no housekeeping at all during our 5 night stay. Not that we needed someone to make the bed, but more to refill the coffee and creamer instead of having to ask. There isn’t a beach area and there is a lot of seaweed which begins to smell later in the day under the hot sun. Overall, it’s a decent place to stay and fairly priced. The friendly staff make up for some of the shortcomings.

Disgusting. Hair on the nightstand, dirty shower, needs major maintenance, clogged sink. This was the dirtiest room I have ever stayed at in my 50 years of traveling.

The bathroom was extremely small including a shower that was minute. The electricity in the bathroom flickered on and off. Amenities were barely existent. It took 4 days for the “heated” pool to warm up to be useable. No maid service ALL week. We had to go to the laundry room to get fresh towels. The jet ski rental was never available and lifting kayaks off the rack was accessible by youthful guests only. A box of tissues in the room would have been appreciated. No information was available for local dining or activities. We were so thrilled to be in sunshine and warm temperatures that we managed. For these prices so much more attention to detail should exist. We did hear from other guests that the place did go downhill.

Let’s start with…We were supposed to have a Deluxe queen room. Instead, we had two full size beds. Nowhere to lay suitcases open, no sitting area, nothing. Not ideal with a family of 4 staying. The room was rundown in every way shape and form. Absolutely nowhere to put things in the bathroom, such as makeup hair products etc. You’re essentially living out of your suitcase and bags while here because there is nowhere to go with anything. Now onto outside. The gnats are atrocious! We’re still extremely itchy 5 days after being home. Cannot sit outside your patio, near the pool, or even a walk to the water. Which by the way, is probably why there are so many gnats..the sea grass that as washed up is housing all these things!! A little cleaning out would go along way. Which also stinks terribly. Had I not of had two children with me and not wanting to shuffle them around, we would’ve definitely looked for somewhere else to stay!

This is not a hotel. You should enter the room directly and there is no services like cleaning etc. the rooms are cleaned before arrival but they’re outdated, things are broken etc. the common areas are not neat not clean, everything looks a bit run-down.

I stayed here for one week by myself with my dog. We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed the king suite Sea view room. The room had been recently updated and felt like a small apartment. This area was very safe and extremely dog friendly, the pool was very inviting and the property sits right on the gulf with beautiful sunsets. If you are sensitive to noise, I would recommend staying on a top floor as sounds tend to travel quite easily between the rooms. There are kayaks and paddle boards to use for free and jet ski and boat rentals available on site. This property is on grassy key a few miles before the heart of marathon and you do see a lot of grass washed up into the waters just off the hotel site. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend staying here as well.
